    Food Sector Lead

    As a result of internal move we are now looking for an experienced, bright and passionate Food Sector Lead to join our Certification & Training Sales team in South Africa.

    Within this role you will aim to increase sales in System Certification and Training business in the Food Sector specifically, by doing regular client visits and managing Key Accounts for food sectors. You will also support operations for developing the Food delivery team as well as delivering Training and Assessments for the approved technical categories.

    The primary focus of this role is gaining new clients and retaining existing clients by keeping customer satisfaction high, building relationships with clients to understand their business needs and drivers .

    Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

    • Responsible for identifying business opportunities in Food Sector to maintain profitable sales levels in accounts and for developing new accounts.
    • Responsible for creating brand awareness of BSI in Food Sector and grow business and BSI market size.
    • Responsible for the direct sales of BSI System Certification and Training Food products all over South Africa, generating profitable sales on new and existing accounts.
    • Provides accurate quotes on product pricing agreements.
    • Ability to call on and travel to customer's and prospective customer's sites for on-site meetings.
    • Emphasizes positive attractive features of BSI business.
    • Takes advantage of any opportunity to upsell products to create additional sales and profit.
    • Coordinates sales efforts with inside sales and provides flow of data on accounts, competitors and suppliers to product management.
    • Sets and achieves challenging goals and aligns all efforts within these strategic goals in Food Sector.
    • Attending Fairs and Exhibitions to create new opportunities.
    • Work in collaborative with Marketing people and keep close eye the market regarding competitor analyses.
    • Supporting Operations and Delivery team with the resource approval process.
    • Delivering Training and Assessment for the approved technical categories and standards.

    Product Knowledge

    • Must have Knowledge in Food Sector.
    • Knowledge about Food Management Systems Products such as BRC Food, BRC Iop(Packaging), HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, 2nd Party Food Assessments & Food Retailers.
    • Technical qualification for Assessment and Training delivery
    • Can qualify sales leads appropriately and pass on to relevant sales teams
    • Prepare monthly reports including forecast to the direct report every month.

    About You

    • Graduate in Agriculture, Food Science, Food Engineering, Technology or related discipline
    • Fluent in English speaking and writing is required.
    • At least 3 years’ experience in sales / field sales and in Food sector.
    • Must have technical qualification regarding Food Management System Standards.
    • Must have the physical ability to drive to and visit with existing and new customers in a certain geographic territory area.
    • Must be a customer-centric, results driven salesperson with the skills to negotiate profitable transactions.
