Job Description

• A fast-growing UK based Fractional CFO firm focused on high-growth UK startups in e-commerce, SaaS and Internet tech companies, is seeking a Finance Lead to join their team in South Africa.
• As a Fractional FM, you’ll be supporting clients with budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and overall financial business performance queries on a monthly basis. You will be responsible for the oversight and review of a small team of bookkeepers, processing transactions, running AP & AR functions, payroll, VAT and tax filings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting UK startups and scale-ups with cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and handling ad hoc financial queries.
• Leading and maintaining strong client relationships, ensuring clear communication and expectation management.
• Preparing and reviewing bookkeeping entries and monthly management accounts.
• Managing UK payroll, VAT submissions, and corporation tax returns.
• Mentoring and supporting junior team members while helping refine internal finance processes.
• Contributing to a collaborative and high-performing remote work culture.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Qualified CA(SA) or GCMA is preferred
• Strong Professional Accountant or AGA(SA) will be considered
• ±5 - 8 years of experience in Accounting
• Proficient in the modern finance tech stack (Xero, Syft, Fathom, Dext, Excel, etc)
• Strong communication skills, highly organised, and takes ownership of tasks
