Summary:

Responsibilities will include creation and translation of the UI/UX design wireframes to code that will produce visual elements of the application.

• Elicit UI/UX requirements from Business and Technical stakeholders
• Develop functional and appealing web and mobile-based applications based on cognitive usability
• Support Front-End  maintenance and enhancements
• Use a combination of industry markup languages to write web pages
• Write functional requirement documents and specifications
• Create quality mockups and prototypes on tight timelines
• Support back-end developers with Front-End Integration and Testing
• Create re-usable, cascading style sheets (CSS) that are consistent across all browsers and platforms
• Create Web Front Ends that are Mobile Responsive
• Maintain graphic standards and branding throughout the product’s interface
• Stay up to date on emerging technologies
• Promote usability best practices
• Develop new user-facing features
• Build reusable code and libraries for future use
• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
• Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability with growth in consideration
• Assure that all user input is validated before submitting to back-end
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to support agile delivery

Skills and qualifications

• Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3
• Basic understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS
• Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery
• Good understanding of JavaScript libraries and frameworks, such as AngularJS, KnockoutJS, BackboneJS, ReactJS, DurandalJS etc.
• Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX
• Basic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image. Familiarity with tools such as as Gimp or Photoshop is a plus.
• Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git / Mercurial / SVN
• Good understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that application will adhere to them.
