    Security Officer (Aviation Services) - (Reference: HR 021/2024)

    Salary: R 356 209. 08 – R 462 394. 08 per annum (Excluding all benefits)

    Requirements: 

    • Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) Aviation Security Training (AVSEC) certificate Airside Induction / Familiarization Training Certificate
    • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in Aviation Dangerous 
    • Goods certificate would be advantageous Computer literacy (Office 365) 
    • Knowledge of airport access control procedures Excellent written and verbal communication coupled with good interpersonal skills as well as analytical skills Code EB driver’s license 
    • No criminal record / Will be subjected to security vetting.

    Competencies:

    • Ability to manage all security protocols as regulated by the Civil Aviation Authority at the airport ( landside & airside), in order to ensure that all regulations are complied with in executing the Airport Security Plans and National Airspace Security Plan.

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Maintains regulated legislation from the Civil Aviation Authority in the designated areas at the airport (landside and airside)
    • Implementation of safety and security procedures, systems and controls to regulate general practices / processes in an aviation environment
    • Responsible for implementation and monitoring of compliance with regard to Aviation Legislation in according to the standards as set out by the Civil Aviation Authority
    • Performing duties to ensure that the safety and security programme is established, implemented and maintained 
    • Perform risk analysis, internal investigations, planning and execution of duties in accordance with accepted standards Collect, analyze, interpret related information to support internal and external audit / inspection results Maintain and update copies of safety and security manuals, aerodrome programs and standard operating procedures
    • Monitor aviation security awareness induction training and present internal aviation training when required Contribute to the overall functioning of the Aviation Services Unit.

    Safety Officer - Aviation Services (Task Grade 11) (Reference: HR 022/2024)

    Salary: 

    • R 356 209. 08 - R 462 394. 08 per annum (Excluding all benefits)

    Preferred Requirements: 

    • Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) Safety Management System (SMS) Certificate
    • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in aviation environment Airside Induction / Familiarization Certificate Advanced Computer Literacy and knowledge of presentations Knowledge of aerodrome / airport operations 
    • Excellent written and verbal communication coupled with good interpersonal skills as well as analytical skills
    • Code EB driver’s license
    • No criminal record / Will be subjected to security vetting.

    Competencies: 

    • Ability to manage the health, safety and security of the airport to ensure proper compliance with Civil Aviation Authority health and safety regulations and guidelines in the execution of airport functions.

    Key Performance Areas: 

    • Maintain and implement legislation from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Implementation of safety procedures, systems and controls according to the aerodrome manual
    • Responsible for implementation and monitoring of airside safety inspections as regulated
    • Ensure internal inspections of runways, taxiways, aprons, infrastucture and lighting systems are conducted and recorded
    • Monitor Obstacle Limitation Surfaces (OLS) 
    • Performing duties to ensure that the safety programme is established, implemented and maintained
    • Manage Foreign Object Debris (FOD) control 
    • Manage bird and wildlife (BWL) control and environmental management 
    • Conduct safety investigations and reporting on the non-conformances 
    • Maintain Hazard and Safety Risk Register Assist with Aerodrome Emergency Plan implementation
    • Facilitate safety meetings and promote safety reporting Support
    • SACAA audits and regulatory inspections Knowledge of aerodrome operations 
    • Monitor aviation awareness induction training and present internal aviation training when required
    • Contribute to the overall functioning of the Aviation Services Unit

    Leading Firefighter (Task Grade10) (Refernce: HR 023/2024)

    Salary: 

    • R 301 728 .19 to R391 643 .04 per annum (Excluding all benefits)

    Requirements: 

    • Grade 12 Higher Certificate in Fire Technology Fire Fighter 1 and Fire Fighter 2 Certificate Hazmat 1 and 2 Certificates Pump Operator/Aerial Appliance certificate
    • 4 Years Operational experience of which 2 years must be at Firefighting level

    Computer Literacy:

    • MS Office Must be Physical fit with No Criminal Record Code C1 Drivers Licence Ability to speak local spoken languages.

    Competencies: 

    • Ability to perform special operations, fight fires, rescue and extrication, render emergency medical assistance
    • Receive, process and select appropriate action to emergency calls Makes preliminary decisions and recommendations on difficult ethical issues Leading fire crews at emergency incidents.

    Key Performance Areas: 
    Reporting to Station Officer the incumbent’s responsibilities will include: 

    • Attending to fire, rescues and related emergency situations 
    • Attending to hazardous material incidents Responding to and dealing in disaster Management issues
    • Conducting and demonstration of fire preventing awareness, Participating in Public Fire Safety Education
    • Rendering basic first aid to rescue victimsResponsible for leading fire crews at emergency incidents.
    • Administrative duties to include reports, updating Logbooks, Vehicle Checklist, assisting in maintaining fleet of vehicles and equipment,
    • Supervising Shifts on duty, Training of staff, and dealing with disciplinary issues.
