Preferred Requirements:
Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) Safety Management System (SMS) Certificate
Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in aviation environment Airside Induction / Familiarization Certificate Advanced Computer Literacy and knowledge of presentations Knowledge of aerodrome / airport operations
Excellent written and verbal communication coupled with good interpersonal skills as well as analytical skills
Code EB driver’s license
No criminal record / Will be subjected to security vetting.
Competencies:
Ability to manage the health, safety and security of the airport to ensure proper compliance with Civil Aviation Authority health and safety regulations and guidelines in the execution of airport functions.
Key Performance Areas:
Maintain and implement legislation from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Implementation of safety procedures, systems and controls according to the aerodrome manual
Responsible for implementation and monitoring of airside safety inspections as regulated
Ensure internal inspections of runways, taxiways, aprons, infrastucture and lighting systems are conducted and recorded
Monitor Obstacle Limitation Surfaces (OLS)
Performing duties to ensure that the safety programme is established, implemented and maintained
Manage Foreign Object Debris (FOD) control
Manage bird and wildlife (BWL) control and environmental management
Conduct safety investigations and reporting on the non-conformances
Maintain Hazard and Safety Risk Register Assist with Aerodrome Emergency Plan implementation
Facilitate safety meetings and promote safety reporting Support
SACAA audits and regulatory inspections Knowledge of aerodrome operations
Monitor aviation awareness induction training and present internal aviation training when required
Contribute to the overall functioning of the Aviation Services Unit
