Full Stack Software Engineer - Cape Town at DigiOutsource

Purpose of the Role:

The role of a Full Stack Software Engineer in the context of mobile apps serves several important purposes, as it bridges the gap between front-end and back-end development, enabling the development and maintenance of comprehensive, end-to-end mobile applications.

Duties include, but not limited to:

Primary Duties

• Develop cutting-edge software using the latest development tools and frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze specifications and complete technical documentation.
• Unit-test all software artifacts.
• Maintain and update current systems and develop new systems using the latest technologies. 
• Collaborate with Product Owners and QA Engineers in developing, testing, and deploying systems components.
• Research and develop new technologies.
• Provide second/third line support to IT for software deployed into company eco system.
• Analyse and resolve complex and high impact production issues where required.
• Monitor systems performance and ensure all SLA’s are met.
• Assist with technical documentation.
• Develop reusable Terraform templates for infrastructure as code to improve deployment speed and consistency.
• Ensure timely delivery of software solutions that meet quality standards.

Support to Team

• Transfer of business and technical knowledge to the greater team.

Essential Criteria:

• 3 years’+ experience hands-on development experience.
• Experience in working with agile teams and successfully delivering agile based software projects.
• Be prepared to work in a 24/7 environment.
• Proven experience with Source control concepts (Merging, Branching, Publishing)
• Proven experience in internet technology and web development.
• Proven experience in coding with an understanding of system architectures and knowledge of SOA.
• Knowledge of OO, development methodologies and applying patterns.
• Ability to work alongside Architects to integrate and propose viable solutions to business.
• Data Stores: MS SQL Server, Mongo
• Software: C#,.Net core, XML, SOAP, HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, JSON, Stored Procedures, Visual Studio, React Native.
• Experience developing in at least one of React development in a mobile front-end focused test-driven environment.
• Demonstrates consistent behaviour aligned to the Organizational Culture.

Desirable Criteria:

• Computer Science related degree, diploma or similar qualification.
• Knowledge of Mobile Platforms, Android and iOS.
• Knowledge of cloud services such as Azure Functions, Azure API Management, Azure Service Bus, Azure Key Vault, Azure Cosmos DB, and Azure Application Insights.
• Working experience with Terraform, and Pipelines
