Functions and Events Coordinator at University of Mpumalanga (UMP)

Job Primary Purpose

• The primary role of this position is to coordinate functions and events in Hotel & Catering Services. The incumbent will also be responsible for ensuring that venue set-ups & breakdowns are done in a timely manner, as well as providing excellent service during functions and events. The incumbent will ensure food safety compliance in functions and events.

Key Performance Areas:

• Functions and events coordination.
• Staff supervision & admin management.
• Hygiene, health, and safety.
• Rotational Duty Management.
• Training of hospitality students.

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric + 3 Year Diploma/ Degree in Events Management, Hospitality Management/ Food and Beverage Management, or any other relevant qualification.
• 4 years’ experience in Events Management or Banqueting is a must.
• Registration with any relevant professional board will be an added advantage.
