Fund Accountant Private Markets at Ninety One

We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified Chartered Accountant in our Private Markets business as a fund accountant.
You will play a leading role in overseeing the financial reporting function for our Emerging Africa Infrastructure Fund (EAIF), working closely with our investment, legal and transaction management teams internally, as well as the client and service providers externally.

Key Responsibilities

• Primarily responsible for the reporting function of EAIF, as well as other Ninety One managed funds and fund ranges.
• Processing financial transactions and maintaining the accounting records for EAIF
• Coordinating the preparation and review of quarterly management accounts and annual financial statements as performed by external administrators, including presenting this to funds’ audit committees and boards.
• Reporting financial metrics and performance to clients on a monthly and quarterly basis
• Liaising with and review the work performed by tax advisors including quarterly and annual tax submissions.
• Assist and advise on the development of the Fund’s Expected Credit Loss Model in accordance with IFRS9
• Coordination and managing our fund audits with external administrators and auditors.
• Keeping abreast of changes in IFRS and relevant tax legislation, assessing the impacts to our funds and implementing of such changes in consultation with our clients.
• Resolving or assisting the wider EAIF business in resolving internal or external accounting, tax, budgetary, compliance and financial target queries.
• Manage relationships with and monitor services levels of outsourced service providers across multiple geographies.

Candidate Requirements
Technical Knowledge and Experience:

• Recently qualified Chartered Accountant
• 1 – 2 years post-qualification experience preferable.

System Skills:

• MS Office proficient
• Accounting Software experience an advantage

• Reporting any possible and actual breaches, errors, complaints or conduct issues.
• Reporting any suspicion that a client, investor, or employee may be involved in money laundering, fraud or other crime such as market abuse
