Gateway Operations Manager 

• Responsible for the overall management and control of the Import and Export process, Planning and implementation of day to day running of the warehouse. Security & Quality Management of staff and equipment. Tight and effective running of operational matters, such as staff allocation and relocation. To promote and maintain good relationship with airlines operations staff and management, government and third party agencies, thereby ensuring the expeditious movement of shipments and information through the DHL network and providing a service which meets DHL customer needs and is superior to all competition.

Key Responsibilities  

• To integrate quality into the business to ensure that every customer contact is a demonstration of absolute dedication towards providing first time ideal solutions for the satisfaction of customer’s immediate and future needs.
• Interpreting and utilizing results to motivate and improve levels of performance
• Effectively ensure that the quality of work is kept high at all times
• Effective control and monitoring of security measures to ensure effective operation and safe handling of material and equipment
• Continuous, accurate and timeous reporting on issues regarding performance levels, network standards and areas of concerns

Minimum Requirements

• Degree or diploma in related discipline
• Minimum 5 years management experience in transport related role (preferably in the Air Express, Transportation or Logistics Industry)
• Experience in implementing change
• Experience of the local regulatory environment
• Proven track record of managing large operational facility with at least 50-100 employees
• Good verbal & written communication
• Ability to plan, organise, control & manage risk
• Strong leadership skills
• Ability to work well under pressure
