JOB PROFILE
To lead the implementation of enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives that enables the development of system solutions to drive Supply Chain efficiency and value creation. To bridge the business requirements with the correct systems solution. To understand the business challenges and be accountable and responsible for developing, implementing and managing changes to the system to match user requirements. To ensure effective and efficient system delivery and support to Aspen’s Global Supply Chain.
Role expectations:
- Accountable for maintaining the overall system architecture, and guiding the evolution of Aspen’s Advanced Planning System (APS) while ensuring system performance, and working with the business to drive standardization
- Understand the technical solution design of APS solutions
- Analyze and propose solution enhancement potential (functionality and performance)
- Define the execution and technical implementation of solution enhancement
- Apply Aspen’s APS capabilities and technology best practices
- Participate and process business requirement sessions and document as-is process and initiate solution enhancement proposals
- Drive the conversion of business logic into the technical platform design
- Maintain technical specification document
- Work closely with project management teams to successfully monitor progress of initiatives
- Manage technical solution sprint backlog including effort estimation, prioritization workflow and deployment of solution enhancement
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Specific Outcomes / Management Accountability:
- Lead the development, implementation and execution of enhancements and continuous improvement activities for the Group Supply Chain Systems with direction from the Head of Digital Technology Service Build & Implementation
- Involved in aligning deliverables to the Group Supply Chain strategy and long term objectives to support the evolving business requirements for the Group
- Understand the business challenges by interacting with IT Managers and Senior Supply Chain Heads of the regions and developing, implementing and monitoring changes to the system to ensure user requirements are met
- Develop and implement a project plan, budget, scope, project charter and manage scope creep including identifying risks and issues for new initiatives
- Accountable and responsible for the management and delivery of projects
- Manage resources (direct and indirect) and their contribution to achieve maximum value for the Aspen Group and Business Units in various projects
- Manage customer expectations regarding customer business requirement functionality and processes and include future, strategic business processes striving for continued excellence
- Lead customers to follow best practices in regions that are not doing so through collaboration with IT Managers and Business Unit Leads
- Lead and manage design sessions with Group Digital Technology Supply Chain Application team ensuring best practice recommendations addressing identified business challenges using current system – accountable and responsible for the delivery of the changes
- Document and manage changes to documentation detailing business standard operating procedures and processes
- Manage client liaison between client end-user and Group Digital Technology Supply Chain Application team in the analysis, design, configuration, testing and maintenance to ensure optimal operational performance
- Ensure, where applicable, system solutions are built taking into account reusability and moving away from point solutions paradigm of thinking
Financial Management Accountability:
- Provide input into the Group Digital Technology budget and ensure cost is contained and investments made contribute to business value to the Global Aspen business
- Effective utilization of direct and indirect resources to keep down project costs
- Continuously drive to reduce operational costs, whilst still providing efficient services and support for the evolving business requirements
Service Management Accountability (Customers & Stakeholders):
- All queries are followed up and resolved in the agreed timeframe
- Internal and external customers are updated as to the progress of their requests, enhancements or projects in process
- A professional attitude is displayed when responding to customers’ needs.
- Have a desire to help and serve the business stakeholders to meet their needs. This is about listening to the customers, working with them, understanding their requirements and concerns and focusing on the reasons why they require a particular service.

Service Delivery And Support Accountability:
- Manage Group Digital Technology Supply Chain Application team business modelling, requirement analysis, system design, system testing, change management, and deployment for projects and enhancements
- Manage the customer expectation that Group Digital Technology Supply Chain Applications perform smooth implementation of system
- Plan, design, build, develop, configure and deploy business solutions as per business requirements defined by the different business units on behalf of the Group Digital Technology Supply Chain Application team
Governance & Risk Management:
- Comply with Group Digital Technology Governance and Project Governance Standards in place
- Assess Application and integration risks and construct remediation plans to overcome these
- Comply with quality assurance processes in place for applications in the different business units
HR Training & Development Accountability:
- Identify development and training needs of self and direct reports
- Staff performance tracked against standards and regular feedback is provided
- Performance discussions held to identify learning requirements
- Training or solutions are provided for developmental needs
- Provide ongoing assessment and feedback of development of self as well as indirect reports.
Technical Skills:
- T-SQL, ETL, XML, VB Script, Windows CMD
- Produce clean, efficient code based on specifications
- Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing software
- Able to learn new languages and technologies
- Automation – bring in manual ways of working into a system
Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- B Degree in Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or related
CERTIFICATIONS/REGISTRATIONS
- Knowledge of supply chain planning; CSCP, CPIM certifications from Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM) is an asset
- Kinaxis Certifications Advantageous
- RR Author Level 2
- Administrator Level 1
EXPERIENCE:
- 8 to 10 years working experience in Supply Chain systems, Inventory Management and/or Software Development
- Pharmaceutical experience preferred; if no pharma experience must have FMCG, chemical manufacturing and/or related industry experience
SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND REGISTRATIONS :

- Experience with Software development and databases. MS-SQL an advantage

- Strong business knowledge of forecasting techniques, demand planning, replenishment and inventory optimisation, master data and integration with finance
