General Assistant: Water and Sanitation at Saldanha Municipality

Applicants must be in possession of a:

• Grade 9,  6 months - 1 years' relevant experience required working on sewer suction trucks Must be able to read and write Person must be physically fit to lift heavy equipment Must be willing to work long hours, after hours, standby and public holidays Good communication skills in two of the three official languages of the Western Cape.

Preferred Requirements:

• Grade 9, 6 months - 1 Year's relevant water and sanitation experience.

Duties will entail:

• Connecting pipes to tankers and septic tanks, Closing of valves and starting pumps on sewer tankers,
• Opening of sewer manholes and septic tank covers, Disposal of wastewater at wastewater plants,
• Assisting the immediate superior(Driver) where possible, Providing a clean and efficient service to the public.
