KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• Attend safety and practical training sessions.
• Perform general maintenance tasks, including replacing bulbs, plug tops, washers, valves, locks, windowpanes, tiles, curtain rails, and toilet systems.
• Conduct routine checks and maintenance on generators, batteries, gas cylinders, air conditioning units, and ventilation systems.
• Carry out minor repairs to hospital beds, furniture, walls, floors, and fixtures, including painting and redecoration.
• Maintain plumbing and sewer systems, including clearing blockages and repairing leaks.
• Clean and maintain facility components such as fans, gutters, downpipes, and work areas.
• Complete administrative duties such as daily timesheets, job signoffs, and material usage records.
• Manage and safeguard tools, equipment, and materials issued, request supplies when needed, and supervise assistants if assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT

• Grade 12 certificate
• Relevant technical or maintenance-related training will be an added advantage.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
• Trade certificate (advantageous but not essential).
• Must have a valid drivers license.
• Health and safety training (advantageous).
• Minimum relevant experience in general maintenance or handyman work.
• Ability to perform minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting repairs.
• Ability to work independently and under supervision.
