General Manager at Pro Talent

Job Purpose

• The General Manager is responsible for the overall management, profitability, operational performance, and strategic growth of the business. The role oversees all departments, ensuring that production, sales, customer service, logistics, quality, and financial objectives are achieved while maintaining compliance with company policies and relevant legislation.
• Experience within the glass manufacturing, glass processing, glazing, aluminium, or related industry will be a distinct advantage.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Management

• Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the business.
• Ensure operational efficiency, productivity, quality, and service delivery.
• Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Monitor key performance indicators and implement corrective actions where required.
• Continuously improve operational processes and systems.

Financial Management

• Develop and manage annual budgets.
• Monitor sales, margins, expenses, and profitability.
• Review financial reports and ensure financial targets are achieved.
• Control operational costs and implement cost-saving initiatives.
• Ensure effective management of company assets and resources.

Sales and Business Development

• Drive revenue growth and achievement of sales targets.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Identify new business opportunities and market expansion initiatives.
• Work closely with sales and marketing teams to grow market share.
• Monitor customer  satisfaction and implement improvement plans.

Production and Quality Management

• Oversee production planning and execution.
• Ensure products meet company quality standards and customer specifications.
• Monitor production efficiencies, waste levels, and turnaround times.
• Ensure effective stock control and inventory management.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within production processes.

People Management

• Lead and develop management and supervisory teams.
• Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and high performance.
• Manage employee relations, performance management, and disciplinary matters.
• Ensure adequate succession planning and staff development.
• Foster employee engagement and retention.

Health, Safety and Compliance

• Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
• Maintain compliance with labour legislation and health and safety requirements.
• Identify and mitigate operational risks.
• Ensure adherence to quality management systems and industry standards.
• Promote a safe working environment across all operations.

Minimum Requirements
Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Business Management, Operations Management, Manufacturing Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Relevant management qualifications will be advantageous.

Experience

• Minimum 8–10 years management experience.
• Minimum 5 years in a senior management role.
• Proven experience managing large operational teams.
• Strong financial and commercial management experience.
• Experience within the glass manufacturing, glass processing, glazing, aluminium, construction materials, or related industry will be advantageous.
