 Job Title: General Security Engineer

• Location: Johannesburg (Hybrid – 3 days onsite per week)
• Contract Duration: 6 Months initially but may get extended
• Minimum Exp – 5 years

Job Overview:

• We are seeking a skilled General Security Engineer to join our team The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, email security, and forwarding proxy solutions, along with a solid understanding of general security engineering principles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement, configure, and manage Microsoft Defender for Endpoint across enterprise environments.
• Monitor and enhance email security systems to prevent phishing, spam, and malware threats.
• Support and maintain forwarding proxy solutions to ensure secure web access and traffic filtering.
• Collaborate with IT and security teams to identify and remediate vulnerabilities.
• Assist in the development and enforcement of security policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular security assessments and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Stay updated with the latest security threats, trends, and technologies.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint.
• Strong understanding of email security protocols and tools.
• Experience with forwarding proxy solutions (e.g., Zscaler, Blue Coat, etc.).
• General knowledge of security engineering principles and practices.
• Familiarity with incident response and threat analysis.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a hybrid team environment.

Preferred Certification:

• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate, CompTIA Security+, or CISSP.
• Experience in enterprise-level security environments.
