General Worker (Northern Cape) at Fraser Alexander (Pty) Ltd.

PURPOSE

• An exciting opportunity exists to ensure that all planned operational targets for the Tailings Division are met on time and of good quality as per contractual obligations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate with immediate Supervisor to achieve operational targets.
• Conduct daily inspections within designated area of responsibility.
• Plan and manage tailings material on site and at depositing areas.
• Extend and connect pipelines as required.
• Operate valves in line with operational requirements.
• Follow instructions provided by immediate Supervisor to carry out specific tasks.
• Assist in resolving operational challenges and promptly report deviations to the immediate Supervisor.
• Perform Mud Guard duties, including monitoring and controlling tailings dam levels and maintaining dam integrity.
• Maintain good housekeeping at all times.
• Comply with all safety rules, regulations and procedures in line with applicable legislation and company policies. 
• Attend and participate in toolbox talks/meetings.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

• A minimum Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE

• A minimum of one years’ experience preferably having worked in a mining/construction environment.

SKILLS, QUALITIES AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

• Good communication skills (verbal and written).
• Good planning and organizing.
• Teamwork and observant.
• Good listening skills.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must pass company and/or client criminal screening processes.
• Must be physically, mentally and medically fit as per company and/or client standards.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts as required.
• Availability to work overtime when necessary.
