The City of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality is a metropolitan municipality that forms the local government of the East Rand region of Gauteng, a large suburban region east of Johannesburg. Ekurhuleni means "place of peace" in XiTsonga.

GIS Operator: GIS - ENER19013
- Job Type Full Time
- Qualification Higher National Certificate , National Certificate (NCV)
- Experience 1 year
- Location Gauteng
- Job Field Data, Business Analysis and AI
Minimum Requirements:
- National Diploma in Geography/ GIS/ Environmental Science or NQF 6 related field of study
- Knowledge of relevant software
- 1 year experience in similar environment
- Experience in municipal infrastructure and council policies will serve as an advantage.
Core Responsibilities:
- Operate, monitor, update, maintain, capture and administer the Electricity database on Geographical Information System.
- Ensure that all appropriate documentation and systems are up to date.
- Update desktop GIS software and keep up with the latest technological trends.
- Draft 3D technical drawings and produce complex technical drawings with prescribed policies and drawing office practices.
- Consults with contractors/ consultants and explain drawings, procedures and legal aspects regarding execution of projects.
- Ensure that datasets adhere to governance and legislative requirements to minimise erroneous data.
- Maintain professional interaction and ensuring ethical dealings with stakeholders at all times
