Graduate- Mechanical Engineer at Weir Minerals

Purpose of Role:

• The successful candidate will be trained to operate a Romer Absolute Arm for 3D scanning of components and will use PolyWorks software to compile dimensional inspection reports.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate the Romer Absolute Arm to perform 3D scans of mechanical components. Process scan data and compile dimensional reports using PolyWorks software.
• Assist in quality inspections and fault analysis of precision parts.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in measurement, accuracy and reporting efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure data integrity and process optimization.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• Minimum C average (60%) in university results.
• Basic understanding of mechanical systems and CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Exposure to metrology, 3D scanning, or dimensional analysis (advantageous but not required).
