Graphic Designer / Animator at Prime Meridian Direct (Pty) Ltd

Main purpose of the position:

This candidate will be proactive, and must be able to work both independently and as part of a team on multiple projects simultaneously. Producing compelling creative graphic projects for both internal and external projects is essential, while continuously delivering cleverly designed materials for the brand. This candidate will also assist in brainstorming and conceptualising for all campaigns.

This individual needs to be proficient in planning and organising their work and able to manage well under pressure. Communication is a big part of the job and the candidate must feel confident enough to contribute to the entire creative process. Following set deadlines and coping well under pressure is important. Candidate should be generally open and receptive to feedback.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Technical Competencies:

• Have an excellent eye for design.
• Develop designs in the fields of graphic, digital and animation
• Planning and designing effective graphic and digital layouts.
• Designing materials for online and offline uses such as social media.
• Producing attractive and effective designs for all media channels (digital and traditional).
• Offering input to creative meetings and sharing ideas.
• Liaising effectively and communicating with marketing team to receive feedback.
• Supporting the creative manager and marketing team throughout the execution of campaigns and projects.
• Able to animate in 2D & 3D.

Minimum Requirements:

• Completed Tertiary Qualification at a certified design institution is essential.
• 5 - 7 years design experience.
• Previus Graphic Design experience in a corporate environment is an advantage.
• Proficient in leading design software packages (Adobe CC essential).
• A strong portfolio showcasing design elements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to conceptualise and contribute to overall creativity of the team.
• Ability to meet deadlines in high pressure environment.
• Ability to see project through from inception to production.
• Good organisational skills that support the rest of the team.
• Motivation to maintain and improve design standards.
• Animation experience advantageous.
