Grounds Supervisor: Facilities Maintenance (Elsenburg), Ref No. AGR 48/2023 at Western Cape Government

Job Purpose    

• The Department of Agriculture, Western Cape Government has an employment opportunity for a competent individual to manage the execution of routine garden and grounds maintenance activities. This post is stationed in Elsenburg, Stellenbosch.

Minimum Requirements    

• An appropriate 1-2 year post school qualification (equivalent or higher qualification); 
• A minimum of 3 years supervisory level experience in a garden and grounds maintenance environment; A valid driving licence.

NB: People with disabilities that restrict driving abilities, but who have reasonable access to transport, may also apply.

Recommendation    

• Ability to drive a vehicle with a trailer.

Key Performance Areas    

• Ensure an effective grounds maintenance unit; 
• Manage the execution of general routine activities regarding the upkeep of gardens and grounds; 
• Implement general financial administrative prescripts; 
• Perform administrative and related functions in the unit; 
• Manage the workshop and storage of tools and equipment; 
• Render assistance with the provisioning of clean drinking water and the moving of offices and furniture; 
• Render standby duties and overtime.

Competencies    

• Knowledge of horticulture or agriculture;
