    Group Accountant

    Job Description    

    • Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced Group Accountant, to join the Finance Department, in CCBA. The successful applicant will be reporting into the Group Financial Controller.

    The Group Accountant will:

    • Engage with CCBA Headquarters (HQ) and Country finance teams to expedite financial reporting requirements, resolve data quality or completeness issues and improve reporting processes
    • Engage with External stakeholders on reporting requirements
    • Country Finance Managers and Financial Directors
    • Country Financial Accountants
    • Key contact with controlling shareholder for queries on monthly reporting
    • Engage with external auditors
    • Treasury, Tax and FP&A support

    The key purposes for the Group Accountant are:

    • Produce high quality, timely and compliant financial information
    • Ensure that CCBA are aligned with reporting requirements with The Coca-Cola Company (TCCC)
    • Responsibility for the consolidation of the monthly actuals, quarterly actuals both for management reporting and US GAAP
    • Continuous improvement of Group reporting review processes

    Key Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Produce high quality, accurate, timely and compliant financial information
    • Review reconciliations between ERP and consolidation system
    • Provide monthly consolidated financial information for CCBA Group in line with Group accounting policies
    • Review of submissions, data validation and follow-up, including the implementation of process improvements based on identification of regular / repeat issues
    • Analyse and explain variances of financial information in reporting systems (HFM / FC) from CCBA group
    • Support IFRS & US GAAP leadership and expertise
    • In addition this role will encompass a range of project work to include
    • On-going development of HFM outputs in conjunction with reporting systems team, to continue to meet internal and external reporting requirements, and enhance the quality and efficiency of reporting processes and outputs
    • Post-acquisition support including assistance with the integration of reporting processes
    • Provide external shareholders with required information and any sundry requirements (TCCC requirements)
    • Support Group Tax function by providing data to allow improved decision making

    Skills, Experience & Education    
    Qualifications:

    • CA (SA)

    Experience:

    • 5+ years relevant financial experience
    • 5+ years finance experience within a group office including complex consolidations
    • Strong knowledge on statutory requirements in terms of IFRS
    • USGAAP knowledge advantageous
