Handyman/Maintenance Assistant at Newmark Hotels

Job Advert Summary    

• We are looking for a reliable, hands-on Handyman / Maintenance Assistant to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will assist in ensuring our property is well maintained, safe, and presented to the highest standards for our guests and team members.

Minimum Requirements    

• Previous experience in a handyman, maintenance, or facilities role (hospitality experience is advantageous).
• Practical knowledge of general building maintenance, including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays when required.
• A positive attitude with a strong commitment to service excellence.

Duties and Responsibilities    

• Perform general maintenance and repair work across the property.
• Assist with plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, tiling, and basic building repairs.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from departments and guest areas.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance tasks.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Report maintenance issues that require specialist attention.
• Adhere to health and safety procedures and company standards.
• Support the maintenance team with projects and property improvements as required.
