MBChB QUALIFICATIONS, MMed (Orthopaedic) or FC (Ortho) SA. A valid registration with Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Orthopaedics Medical Specialist and proof of current HPCSA registration.
A minimum of seven (7) years' experience after registration as an Orthopaedic surgeon. Experience in Training and supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students. Scientific publication in a peer reviewed journal and at least 3 years teaching experience
Grade 1: A minimum of 1 to 5 years of experienced is required after registration with HPCSA as a Orthopaedic Surgeon. A minimum of 6 to 12 relevant experience after registration with HPCSA as an Orthopaedic Surgeon.
Duties:
Successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of Orthopaedic quality, cost effective clinical services as Regional Hospital in line with Pillars of Clinical Governance. Full time Clinical Service provision including after-hours service (week days, weekends and public holiday).
Organising orthopaedic services in the hospital and the sub-district to achieve quality services that are effective and efficient. Patient management and supervision of junior medical staff. Training of undergraduate and postgraduate students. Participation in the Orthopaedics academic program.
Ensure proper and accurate record keeping as legally and ethical required. Reporting to the Hospital Management on Service delivery, Clinical audits and where necessary quality improvement plans.
