Head Data: Product Services at City of Cape Town

Requirements

• A relevant tertiary qualification (honours or 4-year degree including BTech qualifications), preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Anthropology, Industrial Psychology, User Experience, Industrial Design or a related field or relevant technical field
• At least 8 years’ relevant experience

A proven track record in the following areas:

• Deep understanding of the entire data product lifecycle.
• Champion of Governance, you know that great data products are built on a foundation of trust.
• Experience building systems, frameworks, and standards that ensure data products are well- managed, documented, and governed effectively for a large community of users.
• Able to navigate complexity, managing stakeholders, and ensuring the team's work is delivered with efficiency and impact.
• Proactively identifying new technologies and methodologies to enhance our data capabilities and drive the city forward.

Key Performance Areas

Provide quality assurance and manage the team to contribute to:

• The design and implementation of data products ensuring they meet the requirements of analytic use cases.
• The establishment and implementation of data product governance and management systems, frameworks, standards, and best practices for the data analytic & AI community of the city
• The creation, maintenance, and improvement of high- quality documentation for data product management, and data product governance and management
• The delivery of the projects, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, on time, within scope, and with effective communication.
• Stay up to date with the latest advancements in product management and data product governance and management.
• Proactively identify opportunities to apply
