Head - Internal Control and Protection Service (Re-Advertisement) at City of Cape Town

Requirements

• A Relevant BTECH / First degree.
• Eight (8) years appropriate Loss control / compliance experience at advisory level and managing a team.
• Extensive and specialised knowledge of compliance, Investigations and Local Government Legislation and Bylaws.
• Effective interpersonal as well as oral / written communication skills.
• Ability to deal with high level confidential matters.
• Computer proficiency (MS Office suite, SAP).
• A valid driver’s license.

Key Performance Areas

• Managing the operations of the Internal Control, Investigations and Protection services functionality within the Water and Sanitation Directorate.
• Develop administrative policies and procedures and standing instructions to ensure best practice and compliance with local government strategies.
• Plan and administer investigation process for the Department.
• Conduct and lead professional high-level investigations covering all employees and movable / immovable assets of the department.
• Ensure audit queries and report are dealt with timeously and that necessary systems and controls are put in place.
• Manage a security coordination service.
• Manage and plan departmental Governance Compliance assessments and providing Governance and Compliance Awareness and training.
• Coordinate and manage the department insurance function.
• Manage of Security and protection service unit.
