Introduction

• We’re seeking an experienced and assertive Head of Accounting interested in working for a fast growing medium sized Cloud Accounting and Consulting practice in Cape Town. This company leverages the latest cloud technology and automation to ensure business owners gain financial visibility into their business, provision for their tax obligations well in advance and have the financial information that they need to achieve their business goals. 
• This is a great opportunity for a Chartered Accountant (SA) / Chartered Management Accountant looking to apply their leadership, management and technical skills in the Accounting Practice space, and who is passionate about helping SMEs. You will manage a skilled, enthusiastic team of accountants and team leaders.

Role and responsibilities:

• Lead, manage and motivate a skilled, enthusiastic team to achieve the Company objectives.
• Final “gate-keeper” to ensure all work performed for clients meets required standards.
• Ensure well - being of accounting team.
• Drive and influence departmental and system efficiencies.

Desired qualifications and experience

• CA(SA) or CGMA 
• Experience in leading teams
• Continuous experience in an accounting practice environment is beneficial.
• Previous work experience in the Cloud Accounting and Automation space would be highly beneficial. 
• Passionate about SME development.
• Proficiency in Xero Accounting software is desirable.
