    Head of Customer Insights

    • At Pepkor Speciality, we aren’t just looking for a data expert; we’re looking for a high-impact Head of Customer Insights to engineer a unified, data-led future, related to our customer data.  We are seeking a strategic and commercially driven Head of Customer Insights to lead the development and execution of a unified, data-led customer strategy across all Pepkor Speciality brands, in collaboration with business partners. 
    • This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced insights leader to shape how we understand, engage, and grow our customer base - turning data into meaningful, actionable intelligence that drives customer value, retention, and profitability across the business.

    Qualifications    

    • A degree in Business Management, Data Analytics, Marketing, Economics, or a related field is essential

    Knowledge, Skills and Experience    

    • 8–10 years’ experience in customer analytics, CRM, or insights roles, with at least 5 years in leadership.
    • Proven experience within a retail or multi-brand environment, with exposure to complex customer data ecosystems.
    • In-depth strategic and operational expertise in Customer Insights and Customer Data Management.
    • Demonstrated track record of developing and executing a Customer Insights strategy that delivered measurable commercial impact (e.g., revenue growth, improved retention, increased customer lifetime value). 
    • Experience building and managing customer segmentation models, measurement frameworks, and advanced analytics initiatives.
    • Strong exposure to data governance, CRM/CDP environments, and customer data integration across multiple platforms.
    • Experience partnering with Marketing, Digital, Finance, and Commercial teams to enable data-led decision-making at executive level.
    • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and translate complex data into clear, actionable business insights.
    • Strong aptitude for stakeholder influence and effective cross-functional collaboration.
    • Experience in leading, mentoring, and managing a team.

    Key Responsibilities    

    • Development and Execution of Customer Data and Segmentation Strategy
    • Oversight of Customer Insights and Market Research Activities
    • Management of Data Governance and Quality Standards
    • Establishment and Monitoring of Reporting and Performance Metrics
    • Responsibility for Financial Planning and Budget Management includes managing budgets and controlling operational expenditure (OPEX).
    • Cultivation of Stakeholder Relationships and Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Leadership and Development of Team Members
