Your Duties and Responsibilities...

• Strategic Oversight: Develop, maintain, and implement the cyber security roadmap, ensuring it aligns with Virgin Active's business goals and the ever-evolving cyber threat landscape.
• Operational Leadership: Directly manage and lead the SOC teams, ensuring swift responses to threats, and maintaining a 0% unplanned downtime record.
• Hands-On Expertise: Dive into technical challenges when necessary, demonstrating a blend of leadership and hands-on skills to address critical security issues.
• Vendor Management: Engage with external security vendors, ensuring services align with our security standards and optimizing cost-efficiency.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the IT Director, providing updates, strategy alignments, and ensuring cyber security's vision aligns with the organization's broader IT strategy. Establish a synergetic relationship with the Group CISO, ensuring security strategies are globally cohesive and locally relevant.
• Project Delivery: Lead all security-related projects to successful completion, ensuring timely delivery without compromising on security protocols.

We can't live without...

• Recognised cyber security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, Microsoft Security Certifications are mandatory.
• Minimum of 10 years in Cyber Security, with an overall 15 years in the Technology domain, inclusive of development.
• Proven experience managing SOC & Security teams with the ability to be hands-on when required.
• Deep expertise in the Microsoft estate, including tools like Defender, Sentinel, Microsoft 365 licensing, firewall management, and Azure security services.
• Demonstrable experience in managing security roadmaps, vendor relations, and project delivery.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface with senior leadership and technical teams alike.
• Relevant certifications in cybersecurity and Microsoft technologies.
• Coding Capabilities: Strong proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language like PowerShell. Ability to perform tasks via Azure CLI.
