    Unilever Winter Internship Programme - Finance

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Validate with CD&BB an integrated volume demand plan (0-18months rolling) for his/her portfolio.
    • S&OP: correct assumption regarding to the portfolio, together with relevant people (S&OP members) to determinate the estimated volumes & to upload the data into APO system.
    • Reviews historical sales and market data at appropriate level of detail and horizon (Actual vs. Plan - Deviation Analysis) to challenge proposed forecast.
    • Understands past assumptions and follow the data clean up with CG Team
    • Understands and propose statistical models, depending on historical patterns and horizons.
    • Reconciles top-down, bottom-up demand shaping and share variation trend on monthly basis.
    • Understands and records demand drivers and assumptions behind baseline forecast, identifies risks and opportunities.
    • Deliver KPI’s targets (Forecast BIAS, Accuracy, DR, Obsolete, etc.)
    • Ensure stock availability per market for his/her portfolio.
    • Management of innovation/relaunches
    • Understands warehouse and transportation capacity planning.
    • Highlight potential supply risks and ensure clear communication into MSO.
    • Stock shelf-life management (in stock): monitor stock age profile vs. gross requirements on monthly basis (to update provisions)
    • Obsolete management (avoidance): identify obsolete risks, initiate, and follow through required actions to avoid obsoletes.
    • Obsolete disposal management, determine obsolete provision on monthly basis.

    Key Skills:

    • Your performance will be periodically evaluated in accordance with the evaluation criteria set in the Internal Rules of Conduct and taking into account individual performance objectives that will be communicated by the Line manager.
    • The general criteria of performance evaluation refers to:
    • The degree of fulfilment of the tasks described in the job description / individual and team objectives, as will be communicated directly and agreed by the Line manager periodically (in writing);
    • The degree to assume responsibility in connection with the work performed; - Aspects regarding the quality of presence at work (compliance of the work program, outfit, avoiding delays and unmotivated absences, the use of work and protection equipment in performing daily activities, etc.);
    • Interrelation skills (ability to work in teams, conduct compliance towards managers and colleagues, etc.)
    • Compliance with all rules and procedures specific to the position occupied and to those applicable in the company as a whole.

    Minimum Requirements, students currently completing a:

    • University Accounting degree in Management Accounting, Business Science, with preference for those interested in further pursuing their education towards a CA(SA) qualification.
    • Accounts 2 and Accounts 3 in your undergraduate degree

    Unilever Winter Internship Programme - iOps (Planning, Logistics)

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Customer Service Excellence Planning and Logistics: This is a challenging but enjoyable juggling act. You will need to estimate the future demands of our customers, then synchronise the combination of thousands of materials with production line availability to create our many products. You also need to co-ordinate where the finished product needs to go and how it is going to get there. Getting this together at the right time and in the right quantity is a challenge reserved for the best and brightest.
    • Supply Management “Procurement”:  Responsible business and value for money both start here. We’re astute in how we source the many raw materials, packaging and non-production items that we use. You will be on the front line, representing Unilever to suppliers.

    Minimum Requirements: completed/student currently completing a:

    • 3 Year University degree in any discipline with a preference for BCom, BBS, Logistics and Supply Chain (Management) degrees
    • 4 Year BTech Degree (NQF Level 7) in any discipline with a preference for BTech Logistics, BTech Supply Chain (Management)

In engineering, you’ll be responsible for design, operation and maintenance of our leading edge, highly automated manufacturing plants.     Unilever Winter Internship Programme - Customer Development

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Channel & Category Development: Consolidate and drive category growth (e.g., Laundry) through the execution of relevant activities (activations) and innovations. You will work with finance on managing category budgets and ensure category profitability. Provide inputs to Supply Chain on upcoming demand and work closely with marketing to deliver innovation activity into the trade.   
    • Account Management: You are the face of Unilever to our key retail and wholesale customers. You will work on joint customer business planning that will deliver profitable growth for our retailers and for Unilever. 
    • Shopper Marketing: Uses strong shopper insights to work strategically with key retailers to develop and execute joint marketing campaigns that help grow both our businesses.
    • New Business Development: Uses new business models like ecommerce to strategically develop and execute joint marketing campaigns that help grow both our businesses.

    Minimum requirements:Currently studying towards a :

    • postgrad Degree with a preference for BComm, Accounting, Management or Economics

    Key Responsibilities in the function would include:

    • Global Brand Marketing: The Body of Unilever marketing is made up of both brand development and brand building. Brand development is considered the head of the body. You will decide the strategic direction your brands will take in different markets. You will think of ways in which to marry the needs of the market with the brand strengths and drive market development through the development of toolkits that are appropriate and implementable.  Brand development allows you the opportunity to work with global teams in crafting brand and consumer strategies that will ultimately influence consumer behaviour toward your category and ultimately your brand. You will project lead innovation that is key for market growth and brand growth. This will allow you to work cross functionally and interact with people from different areas of expertise to deliver an innovation in full and on time.
    • Local Brand Marketing:  This is where strategy comes to life through implementation. Brand building is the body of marketing. In brand building you are expected to treat your brand as a growing business. To this end you will understand your brand from a consumer/shopper and customer perspective. Here you will take the brand toolkit and make it come alive in your market. You will work closely with shopper and consumer insights to find the sweet spot that works for your brand. You will explore different channels in which to explode your brand messaging. You will also work closely with your customer team in developing activation that is tailored by retailer and that will assist you in growing your brand share and volumes. You will also project lead innovation that is delivered by your brand development team, allowing you to work cross- functionally.
    • As part of your development, you will experience Customer Development i.e., taking our brands to market by partnering with trade i.e., Walmart, Pick n Pay, Checkers, Clicks etc. Here you become the face of Unilever amongst our customers i.e., traders, retailers & wholesalers.

    Minimum Requirements: Student currently completing/completed a:
