    Compiler (Annual Financial Statements)

    Job Description    
    An opportunity exists at Mazars in South Africa; an international professional services firm. The job will consist of ensuring the successful completion of assigned compilations of financial statements.     Duties and Responsibilities    
    Compile annual financial statements in accordance with the Company’s Act and applicable accounting framework (IFRS, IFRS for SME’s).
    Provide clear guidelines to clients on compilation supporting documentation required to compile annual financial statements.
    Analyse compilation information and documents received from clients for completeness and accuracy.
    Reconcile completed AFS to TB and supporting information provided by client.
    Apply technical expertise and analyse client and other relevant information effectively where necessary to ensure high quality set of annual financial statements produced.
    Communicate & collaborate with the both the client and within the team to meet client deliverables & deadlines.
    Communicate effectively and directly with client and maintain positive and professional client relationships.
    Attention to detail and review own work for spelling errors or missing information.
    Continuous learning and development – constantly improve on own IFRS and IFRS for SME knowledge
    Complete own timesheets.
    Completion of administrative tasks related to compilations
    Manages own time effectively
    Monitor own progress and performance against set KPI’s
    Collaborate with team members to find new innovative ways to improve efficiency.
    Minimum Requirements    

    • Successful completion of a traineeship contract (SAICA or SAIPA) with minimum 2 years post articles experience
    • Proficiency in Caseware and Microsoft products
    • Proficient in application of IFRS, IFRS for SME’s
    • Strong accounting and tax knowledge and good problem solving skills.
    • Ability to compile an entire set of annual financial statements in accordance with the relevant accounting framework using Caseware for Director review.
    • Excellent writing, reporting skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong planning, organising skills and ability to work under pressure in a deadline driven environment.
    • Be willing to foster working relationship with team members and embrace team culture of diversity and inclusivity

    Administrator - Bloemfontein

    Job Description    
    An opportunity exists in the Money Market Division of Mazars; an international professional services firm, based at Mazars in Bloemfontein

    We are looking for a suitably qualified candidate to administer the Corporate Saver Account and render general administration support within the Money Market Department.

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Process withdrawal instructions and arrange for authorisations
    • Open new accounts
    • Ensure clients are FICA compliant
    • Liaison with clients, staff and partners
    • Liaison with bank staff
    • Resolve queries with various parties
    • Monitor system and balance interest daily
    • Perform daily reconciliations
    • Attend to banking details
    • Assist with ad hoc duties in the Money Market department

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Grade 12 qualification
    • Administrative qualification will be advantageous
    • At least 2 - 3 years’ experience in a similar role
    • Previous Financial services experience will be advantageous
    • Understanding of FICA legislation and the practical application thereof
    • Quality and detail orientated
    • Strong administration skills
    • Proven MS Office skills (MS Word, Outlook and Excel)

    Senior Accountant - Century City

    Job Description    
    Opportunity exists at Mazars in South Africa; an international professional services firm. The available opportunities are of a hybrid nature and be executed from any Mazars office in South Africa.

    The job role will consist of ensuring the complete accounting function up until trial balance level, compile annual financial statements and perform independent reviews in accordance with the review standard for a variety of client portfolios

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Gather client information
    • Prepare annual working paper files (including tax computations)
    • Draft annual financial statements (AFS) on Caseware
    • Process and reconcile monthly / bi-monthly client transactions and produce management accounts as required
    • Produce and submit client statutory returns (VAT) and resolve SARS queries
    • Budget vs actual analysis and reasons for overruns
    • Perform independent review engagements in accordance with the review standard (ISRE2400)
    • Resolve review queries from Assistant Manager/Manager/Partner and do final entries as per Partner’s finalisation
    • Manage individual productivity and budgets (include completion of timesheets)
    • Provide Sage/Caseware/Xero support to clients upon request
    • Foster, build and maintain professional relationships with internal and external clients

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Recognised 3-year degree as per the SAIPA/SAICA requirements
    • 4+ years of experience in an accounting/auditing environment, completed SAIPA/SAICA articles is preferred
    • Professional membership preferred
    • Excellent Computer skills
    • Proficiency in MS Office, i.e Word, Excel and Outlook is essential
    • Proficiency in Xero / Pastel / Sage is essential
    • Proficiency in Caseware and Caseview is essential
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Excellent time management skills
    • Quality and detail oriented
    • Excellent customer focus
    • Planning and organising skills
    • Driver’s licence (preferred not essential)
    • Own vehicle (preferred not essential)
