    Head of Estates and Facilities

    The Head of Estates and Facilities will be involved in ensuring the implementation of a Facilities strategy across our Derivco locations. You will lead the facilities team to ensure efficient and high quality delivery of all facilities offerings to Derivco staff. The role will also be involved in developing proposals and project plans to ensure Derivco facilities reflect our culture and principles. You will actively seek feedback from Derivco employees on how our facilities can be improved, and research local and global external trends to ensure our facilities offerings are current and relevant.

    Working closely with senior internal stakeholders and external partners and providing strategic leadership and direction to Derivco’s facilities team, the role will ensure highest levels of resource quality, compliance, leadership and commercial awareness across all owned and leased estates.

    Responsibilities

    • Strategic and Functional Leadership
    • Provide overall departmental leadership to the Facilities Team
    • Professionally lead the estate and facilities services to ensure the delivery of high quality services from the resources available and in line with relevant policies, procedures and practices.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with all internal & external maintenance and/or service teams.
    • Chair the building planning committee.
    • Ensure direct reports are suitably trained on all facilities policies, procedures and systems.
    • Manage staff performance and facilitate improvement through regular performance monitoring and feedback, to ensure work standards, quality control, safety standards, cost optimization, and timely execution as per service standard, work instruction and requirements.
    • Actively encourage an environment that supports teamwork, co-operation and performance excellence by participating in objective setting, plan development and performance reviews to ensure team effectiveness.
    • Manage department performance and facilitate employee development through the performance development framework.
    • Actively encourage an environment that supports teamwork, co-operation and performance excellence by leading department OKRs and KPIs.
    • Oversee contractors’ relationships and engagements, ensuring they are streamlined and cost effective.

    Requirements

    • Diploma or degree in Facilities Management, Engineering or Property Management
    • 8-10 years’ experience in a senior facilities management role
    • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Strong customer-service orientation
    • Project Management experience
    • Knowledge and understanding of relevant local laws and regulations
    • Able to multitask
    • Good problem-solving skills
    • Strong organizational skills
