    Head of Marketing

    Description

    We are looking for a Head of Marketing to grow our brand. The ideal candidate is a highly organized self-starter who is capable of working cross-functionally on the planning and the implementation of marketing projects. You will need to display versatility in order to handle ad-hoc projects as assigned. You must demonstrate ability to grown and lead an inspired marketing team. Your experience in marketing cloud technology coupled with excellent communication skills and attention to detail will be a huge advantage.

     

    Key Responsibilities

    Marketing Strategy

    • Develop and implement brand strategies that will deliver long term strategic and profit objectives as well as grow.

    • Deliver and execute strategic long, medium and short-term plans for our brand.

    • Manage and grow our company brand.

    • Direct and co-ordinate the implementation and achievement of agreed plans by providing advice and direction, initiating and co-ordinating progress on all projects.

    • Facilitate implementation with other functions within the organisation as well as with aligned stakeholders.

    • Establish sound business and marketing processes.

    • Define and drive the social media strategy to grow audiences and user engagement for BlueSky.

    • Manage cross-functional project activities required to achieve specific marketing objectives.

    • Continuously innovate within the social media space.

    • Modify our social media strategy and the platforms utilized relating to messaging, engagement, and content performance.

    • Craft complex and robust social media strategies and the resulting content plans and calendars.

    • Manage the marketing budget effectively to drive results

    • Manage relationships with social media providers (mainly LinkedIn, Instagram) and stay informed of new opportunities and emerging tech in this area.

    • Serve as our internal social media expert providing social strategy, insights, and best practices to colleagues at BlueSky.

    • Develop a synchronised co-marketing plans with our vendor partners i.e., Salesforce, AWS, Tableau.

    • Define a customer marketing plan to support sales org in growing wallet share in existing and new accounts.

    Content Creation & Social Media

    • Create a constant stream of engaging, witty, edgy, shareable social content that encourages virality and brand awareness.

    • Be our brand storyteller with a passion for listening to the community and developing innovative and compelling graphics, photography, copy, and video that engage the social space.

    Brand & Advertising Strategy

    • Work with an ad agency/ or agencies to develop an advertising strategy and rollout plans.

    • Devise a cost-effective media plan that’s relevant to our audience – measurable.

    • Ensure our brand CI/tools are managed carefully.

    • Employee brand engagement will be another key element of the brand plans.

    Lead a marketing team

    • Must ensure mentorship and diversity of marketing in line with HR strategy.

    Customer and Solutions Marketing

    • Must define our partner and solutions marketing plan jointly with sales org.

    • Define a co-marketing plan with our vendor partners i.e., AWS, Salesforce and Tableau.

    • Develop demand generation campaigns to grow revenue in existing account and new logo’s.

    • Must identify partner marketing events i.e., ITWeb Cloud Summit, etc.

    • Work with CRO, CTO, COO to ensure we track and meet our vendor KPI’s annually.

    • With CRO to ensure we win partner marketing and industry awards annually.

    Analytics

    • Determine potential impact on plans as well as identify future opportunities.

    • Monitor, analyse and evaluate marketplace developments relating to own and competitive developments, sales and supply chain performance, consumer and customer behaviour.

    • Consistently track the metrics and performance of our social media campaigns, content, and the overall health of our social channels.

    • Offer quarterly reports to management on emerging social media trends and discuss any necessary changes to the social marketing plans.

    Marketing Events

    • Event Conceptualisation and logistics.

    • Design and implement strategic events to reach marketing and sales objectives (lead generation, branding, awareness, education).

    Requirements

    Competencies

    • Attention to detail.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    • Communication strategy and creative execution.

    • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

    • Good interpersonal skills.

    • Sound technical knowledge of brand building, advertising, media and marketing research disciplines.

    • Strategy development and implementation.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or equivalent.

    • 8-10 years of experience in marketing, technology, and/or sales.

    • Sound strategic marketing and brand management experience.

    • Self-motivated and creative with strong verbal, written, and organizational skills.

    • Deep understanding of social media analytics and our goals for business growth.

    • Ability to create micro-content such as social graphics and basic design elements for our business social pages.

    • Experience working with platforms such as Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter etc.

    Preferred

    • Extensive brand marketing, design experience, social media and customer marketing experience (tech industry experience an added advantage).

     

    Package

    • Salary package is market-related

    • Based in Johannesburg or Cape Town, however the responsibilities are company wide
