Job Description

• Opportunity to join well respected Stockbroking team as Head of Operations. Experienced stockbroking operations specialist sought to be responsible for the day-to-day operations, covering settlements, compliance, team escalations etc. Role reports to the COO. Great team! 

Responsibilities:

• Day-to-day operations of the business, post trade settlements, private client administration, derivatives, bond markets, locally and globally
• Overseeing matters escalated by the team, and timely intervention
• Ensure operational and administrative systems, controls, and processes are in place 
• Monitor relevant JSE Communications and be aware of compliance requirements 
• Enforce preventative measures to possible breaches
• Maintain business processes and contribute to the development of (SOPs)
• Assist with the co-ordination of year end audit
• Provide accurate and timely reporting for inclusion in Monthly Management Accounts
• Work closely with the Finance Team to manage inter-dependencies
• Review and sign-off payments

Requirements: 

• Minimum of completed tertiary finance or accounting qualification, as well as relevant JSE Exams 
• Must have a minimum of 10 years experience in a specialist operations role within the stockbroking environment 
• Must have solid exposure to investment / financial markets, operations and settlements, risk compliance
• Strong IT systems knowledge i.e. advanced MSExcel, BDA, JSE Systems
• Ability to manage a variety of tasks and priorities
• Must be a good team player and team manager
• Highly meticulous,through and great attention to detail 
• Flexible and adaptable
