You’ll own, lead, and scale Mukuru’s global performance marketing and digital acquisition strategy. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution — designing campaigns that move markets, optimizing MarTech systems, and leading a distributed team of marketers who live and breathe growth.
You’ll balance the art and science of marketing — blending data-driven experimentation with cultural intuition across multi-country audiences.
What You’ll Do
Develop and execute Mukuru’s global performance marketing strategy across paid media, SEO, affiliate, ASO, and digital partnerships.
Manage multimillion-dollar budgets across geographies, ensuring smart spend and maximum ROI.
Localize creative, copy, and media mix for diverse markets — from high-tech to mobile-first, low-data environments.
Build and evolve a fit-for-purpose MarTech stack that powers omnichannel campaigns and automation.
Lead adoption of AI, analytics, and automation tools that scale customer acquisition and engagement.
Drive data-driven decision-making — from real-time dashboards to advanced attribution models (MMM, multi-touch).
Champion digital experience and conversion optimization (CRO) with experimentation frameworks and A/B testing.
Partner cross-functionally with Product, BI, and Finance to align marketing investments with growth goals.
Recruit, coach, and grow high-performing teams across markets.
Report directly to the Chief Marketing Officer, shaping the future of digital marketing at Mukuru.
What You’ll Bring
12+ years in performance or digital marketing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role across multi-market operations.
Proven experience managing $5M+ marketing budgets with full ROI accountability.
Strong technical knowledge of MarTech ecosystems, analytics, and ad platforms (Google Ads, Meta, TikTok, programmatic).
Expertise in data-driven performance management, attribution, and digital experimentation.
Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams across regions and time zones.
Postgraduate qualification in Marketing, Business, or Data Analytics (Honours or higher).
Nice-to-Haves
Experience scaling digital marketing in emerging or mobile-first markets.
Understanding of privacy frameworks (GDPR, POPIA).
Familiarity with AI tools, CDPs, and automation platforms.
