    Head of Strategic Partnership - Large Enterprises

    Job Description
    The Head of Strategic Partnerships is a senior management role responsible for developing and leading the implementation of an Old Mutual Corporate partnership approach to derive mutually beneficial business value while ensuring alignment to the Old Mutual Corporate (OMC) customer led strategy. Partnerships are critical to the rapid development and success of OMC within the market.

    Defines and implements fit for purpose operating practices to execute on OMC partnership strategy

    • Develop and implement a framework to identify and qualify partners whose value propositions will be enhanced by working in partnership with OMC while enhancing OMC speed to market.
    • Work with the Head of Large Enterprise (LE) to deliver a stream of new business opportunities to deliver on the LE business plan.
    • Build a detailed understanding of distributor structure including (but not exclusive to) ownership, business aspirations, immediate plans, employee matrix, compliance processes, business areas and membership information.
    • Develop business models and financial arrangements that are mutually beneficial to OMC, its partners and customers. These may result in M&A transactions.
    • Facilitation of negotiations including mergers and acquisitions.
    • Develop and execute partnership agreements.
    • Onboard and support new partners as they join OMC.
    • Develop and manage strategic account plans and key executive relationships, including growth opportunities, action planning, day-to- day relationships and business growth forecasting.
    • Grow partner’s activation levels through co-marketing customer proposition campaigns where relevant.
    • Provide input to the SME and LE segment business plans that meaningful growth opportunities for OMC
    • Influence OMC Executive to ensure that they line up resources behind the largest opportunities.
    • Work with relevant Group functions, including Strategic Partnerships on enterprise-wide partnership opportunities

    • Network and build longer term relationships with internal and external stakeholders
    • Provide ongoing expert decision support for all parts of the value chain
    • Role model client centric behaviour
    • Monitor and respond to development in client’s business interests
    • Co-creates a strategic partnership strategy and roadmap.

    Demonstrate Leadership Effectiveness through best practices

    • Align others to best practice and set standards of excellence
    • Function as a subject matter expert and continually strive to enhance and update area of expertise
    • Shares knowledge with colleagues and collaborates and networks to deliver on business objectives
    • Contribute to a culture of continuous learning and development
    • Drive and support change and culture shift initiatives

    Risk Management, Governance & Compliance

    • Ensure compliance with the Group Governance Framework, segment strategy and operating model and any statutory legislation and regulations
    • Roll-out and embed Group policies and frameworks
    • Ensure appropriate supplier procurement and contracting in line with business’s BBBEE objectives, SMME focus and agile delivery
    • Implement audit findings
    • Identify and manage key strategic risks
    • Keep abreast of the unfolding environment that industry & competitors face and identify related risks

    Job Requirements

    • Relevant post graduate business qualification (CFP/CFA/ MBA)
    • 5+ years at senior management level (or higher)
    • Corporate environment essential
    • Financial services sector preferable.
    • Demonstrated ability to influence and manage multiple stakeholders either directly or indirectly.
    • The ability to negotiate with internal and external stakeholders
    • Advanced presentation and facilitation skills
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Numerical and analytical skills
