HOD: GREEK (Pre-primary and Playschool) at SAHETI School

• As the Head of Department (HOD) for Greek in the Playschool and Pre-Primary School, you  will oversee the effective implementation and delivery of the Greek curriculum, fostering an  understanding, love and appreciation of the Greek language, culture and history. This role  involves ongoing curriculum development, supporting teacher growth, building relationships  and providing academic assistance to students. Reporting to the Principal of the Playschool  and Pre-Primary School, the position requires staying informed about globally benchmarked  academic standards. Key responsibilities include teaching, managing, motivating and guiding  staff within the department, as well as multitasking effectively to ensure the department's  success. You will be part of the Pre-Primary School Management Team.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Exceptional proficiency in Greek, including grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. 
• Strong command of English, both spoken and written. 
• Outstanding teaching abilities and techniques. 
• Excellent managerial skills, encompassing organisation, administration and  communication. 
• Ability to collaborate effectively with educators to inspire and enhance performance. 
• High-level interpersonal skills for conflict resolution, negotiation and decision-making. 
• Adaptability to new teaching methodologies and technologies, with a readiness to  adjust practices as needed.

• A deep love and passion for Greek culture, coupled with extensive knowledge of  Greek history, traditions, language and arts. 
• Genuine respect for diversity within the school community and the ability to promote  Greek culture in an inclusive manner.

Minimum Requirement: 

• A Teaching Degree or Diploma Certification. 
• A recognised teaching certification or equivalent qualification in Greek language  education. 
• SACE Registration. 
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience. 
• Preferably, experience in managing or leading a team within an educational  environment. 
• Proficiency in using technology for both classroom instruction and administrative tasks. 
• Commitment to planning, organising and participating in school activities. 
• Appropriate security and child protection clearance.
