Hoisting Electrical Project Engineer at ABB

Your Role and Responsibilities

• In this role you will have the opportunity to act as a design authority for an engineering discipline with low to medium complexity. Each day, you will complete assignments on small projects or portions of larger projects in a cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by applying basic design for excellence concepts in project.

The work model for the role is: Hybrid
You will be mainly accountable for:

• Performing the role of a project engineer on mine hoisting system and provide after hour engineering support to customers when required.
• Executing engineering functions and coordinating engineering functions done by other project team members on large or complex projects.
• Overseeing design and construction of electrical panels.
• Conducting formal risk review meetings and documents results for client’s presentations.
• Arranging and participating in the design, manufacturing, Commissioning and Site Acceptance test.
• Performing electrical hoisting audits and dynamic testing when required.

Qualifications for the Role

• Degree in Electrical Engineering with experience in Process Automation.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in hoisting
• Knowledge of AC and DC drive systems
• Computer and programmable logic controller (PLC)
• Experience in mining industries would be advantageous
• Knowledge of electrical theory and system in mine winders
• You must be willing to travel
• You are at ease communicating with various levels in the organization internally and cross functionally
