    HR Officer: Recruitment Specialist (Woodmead, JHB)

    Job purpose:

    Provide administrative support to the HR Department and Management teams at Head Office and Projects, to address recruitment needs. Ensure that all vacancies are timeously filled as per project plan deadlines and that recruitment processes and best practices are adhered to. Align recruitment with set Transformation and EE objectives. Create and administer a database of potentially suitable candidates, compile and present Recruitment reports to Management.

    Key Performance Areas

    Recruitment, Selection & Appointments

    •  Compile Job Advertisements/ Job Specifications and Job Descriptions in conjunction with relevant Line Managers and HOD’s.
    •  Distribute approved Job Advertisements on all relevant platforms including digital media.
    •  Track applications and compare against advertised Job Specifications to generate electronic “long lists” of potentially suitable candidates.
    •  Generate shortlists in conjunction with Line management.
    •  Contact short listed candidates to arrange interviews.
    •  Attend and administer interviews in line with Co recruitment guidelines, Policies and Industry best practices.
    •  Promote a positive and professional image of Company to job applicants during recruitment processes.
    •  Compile Recruitment packs and ensure that all relevant verification checks are conducted and packs completed, before generating offers of employment for successful candidates.
    •  Generate offers of employment and submit for Senior Management approval.
    •  Distribute approved offers of employment to selected candidates.

    Onboarding & Engagements

    •  Notify all relevant stakeholders of offers accepted and/or declined.
    •  Communicate with new employees and Line management/ site HR Departments to make onboarding and accommodation arrangements (where applicable).
    •  Notify payroll Dept of new engagements and ensure that payroll/ engagement documents are timeously completed and submitted.
    •  Assist with the induction and orientation of new employees.
    • Recruitment Reporting & HRIS Administration
    •  Maintain an electronic database of approved Job Descriptions & Advertisements and distribute to internal Stakeholders upon request.
    •  Maintain an electronic database of potentially suitable candidates for future reference purposes.
    •  Ensure that all Recruitment related data and reports are maintained accurately and up to date.
    •  Manage recruitment “inboxes” to ensure that Co recruitment e-mail addresses are not overloaded or blocked, due to exceeding mailbox sizes.
    •  Conduct weekly/ monthly/ Ad hoc recruitment reports and distribute/ present to applicable Stakeholders.

    HR General

    •  Assist with any other HR related tasks as requested by Line manager.

    Minimum Job requirements:

    •  Grade 12 certificate.
    •  Formal qualification (B. Degree or N. Dip, preferably with B. Tech) completed in HR Management
    •  A minimum of 5 years’ recruitment experience of which 3 years must have been gained in the Opencast Mining environment (compulsory).
    •  Must have Project recruitment experience.
    •  Valid code EB drivers’ licence
    •  Clean criminal record

    Knowledge, Attitude, Skills & Abilities:

    •  Excellent knowledge related to Technical Job specifications and recruitment as applicable in an Opencast Mining environment.
    •  Demonstrated experience working in a multi-discipline team.
    •  Advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (MS-Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook).
    •  Must be able to generate and present professional reports.
    •  Excellent knowledge of and ability to generate professional job advertisements, job specifications and job descriptions.
    •  Deadline driven and the ability to work under pressure.
    •  High level of attention to detail.
    •  Excellent organizing, planning and interpersonal skills.
    •  Assertive & Performance driven.
    •  Excellent communication skills, oral and written.
