HR Practitioner HRD Mining (Rustenburg) at Samancor Chrome

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

• To provide a technical training and development service to ensure the implementation and maintenance of training interventions according to legal and organisational needs and it meets SETA requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY:

• Identify and assess level of continuous risk exposures in area of responsibility by considering exposures to business, financial, legal issues, people, equipment, material, environment, processes, etc.
• Consider the level of risk, apply mitigation and implement control measures for residual risk (set objectives, minimum requirements, etc.)
• Comply with SHEQ requirements (SHEQ Toolbox)
• Utilise the Integrated Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report SHEQ status. 

CUSTOMERS:

• Interact with customers and familiarise yourself with operational concerns and any inherent peculiarities (e.g. HR issues)
• Ensure customer satisfaction.
• Key Customers: DMRE, Management, Supervisors and all Employees

BUSINESS PROCESSES:

Training Effectiveness:

• Initiate and implement Skills Training Matrix
• Ensure availability of training material as per the Skills Training Matrix
• Coordinate and plan the flow of training accordingly to optimize resources
• Interact with customers and familiarize yourself with operational concerns or any inherent challenges (e.g., HRD issues)
• Manage and monitor the assessment process to determine competency in line with various training modules
• Manage learner training records
• Implement feedback sessions with Supervisors to monitor progress
• Monitor and ensure the maintenance of equipment utilized in the training process according to the technical specifications and business unit maintenance standards

Growth:

• Ensure employee competence and legal compliance.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

• Grade 12/N3
• Higher Certificate or National Diploma in ETDP (Level 5)
• Registered Assessor and Moderator for mining related qualifications and skills programmes.
• Blasting Certificate
• 5 years’ experience with preferably 2 years Shift Supervisor experience in Mining 

Skills:

• Computer Literate, data analysis, lead a team, training material development.

Knowledge:

• Demonstrate an understanding of the MHSA training related requirements, SETA and QTCO accreditation criteria.
• Demonstrate an understanding of SLPs, BBBEE and Mining Charter requirements.
• Demonstrate an understanding of mining methods.
• Demonstrate an understanding of WCM policies and procedures related to HRD processes
