    HR Services Manager

    Job Description external    

    • We have recently established a presence in South Africa and are looking for someone to provide HR advice to a range of global clients relating to Employment Laws.  This role will also be responsible for providing the same service for surrounding countries utilizing outside legal resource. We are looking for our in country expert.  
    • Safeguard Global, through Global Employment Outsourcing (GEO), acts as our clients “employer of record” for international employees.  We navigate local tax and labor laws, regulations and benefits, so our clients can get down to business without a moment wasted.

    You will:

    • Be the main point of contact for all HR related questions throughout the worker life cycle with full knowledge of Africa Employment Laws
    • Work with the Operations Team to ensure successful onboarding for all new GEO workers
    • Proactively support the delivery of all the GEO HR processes encompassing handbooks, policies, practices and procedures, ensuring legal compliance
    • Develop and maintain all types of contracts of employment (Starters, Leavers, Extensions and employment transfers) ensuring legal compliance
    • Manage complex HR projects/issues with Worker(s)/Clients.  Including but not limited to Performance Management, terminations & transfer of employment
    • Advise clients where necessary on workers career progressions, promotions, salary analysis and recommendations
    • Apply and update, when needed, HR policies, procedures and work conditions as well as ensuring their communication and compliance
    • Maintain employees’ personal data as per local laws
    • Actively identify gaps in processes and make recommendations/implement changes necessary to mitigate risk
    • Work with associated benefit providers to provide legally compliant benefit packages for all workers and provide benefit costing updates to Supply Chain and Line Management
    • Manage the monthly payroll for all workers with our local payroll partner ensuring legal compliance
    • Proactively identify and implement to successful completion ad hoc projects and continuous improvement as required, to support the delivery of an excellent HR service to the business

    Your Skills:

    • Competent knowledge of Africa Labor Law is vital to this role
    • A HR background including management of Employment Terminations
    • Fluent English is essential with great communication skills and relationship building
    • Experience of operating under an AUG License is desirable         
    • Experience in advising on complicated Employment Relations Issues
    • Focused on results, ability to manage priorities and respect deadlines; good planning and organizational skills and rigor at work;
    • Payroll experience would be a great advantage.
