    Human Capital Data & Insight Specialist: Three-year fixed Term

    EQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • BCom Honours degree (NQF8) in Human Resources Management, Data Analytics, Statistics, Information Management, or related field.
    • Minimum of 5 to 8 years’ relevant experience in data analysis, reporting, and quality assurance, preferably within a corporate services, public sector or relevant environment.
    • Proven experience engaging with senior and executive stakeholders.
    • Demonstrated track record of improving data quality and reporting credibility.
    • HR Analytics, data governance or BI certification is required.
    • Master’s degree (NQF 9) in Human Resources Management, Data Analytics, Statistics, Information Management or related qualification will serve as an added advantage.

    KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:

    Human Capital Data Quality & Governance

    • Validate the completeness, accuracy and consistency of all departmental data submitted for reporting.
    • Identify data anomalies, gaps, duplications or inaccuracies; conduct root-cause analysis; and recommend corrective actions.
    • Maintain master datasets and ensure single source of truth across all CS functions.
    • Develop and maintain processes to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across Corporate Services units.
    • Conduct regular data audits to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness
    • Implement data governance practices, including version control, standardised definitions, and master data management.
    • Support policy compliance monitoring by providing evidence-based insights on process effectiveness.

    Human Capital Analysis, Insights and executive reporting assurance

    • Consolidate monthly, quarterly and annual data for the entire Corporate Services portfolio to support relevant reporting.
    • Develop dashboards and analytics (Power BI/Excel/SharePoint) for GE: CS and relevant governance committees.
    • Prepare data packs by synthesising metrics across HRBP, L&D, Wellness, REM, OD, Corporate Affairs and Facilities and submit to Group HRBP to include in EXCO/Board/Committee reporting.
    • Translate complex data into actionable insights, trends, risks and recommendations.
    • Support AGM and Corporate Plan reporting through robust metrics and analysis.
    • Analyse HC data to identify trends, risks and workforce implications.
    • Translate data into meaningful insights to support workforce planning, capability planning and organisational decision-making.
    • Support scenario planning and evidence-based strategic discussions.
    • Align HC metrics and reporting approaches with leading HR analytics and public-sector best practices.
    • Benchmark HC indicators where appropriate and recommend improvements.

    Systems & Integration Oversight

    • Oversee integrity of HRIS data and reporting outputs (without system administration).
    • Identify opportunities for standardisation, automation and reporting efficiencies.
    • Maintain central reporting tools, SharePoint lists, databases and analytics models.
    • Collaborate with HR Systems, ICT and OD to standardise data definitions and reporting structures.
    • Ensure alignment between operational systems (e.g., payroll, HRIS, LMS, facilities systems) and Corporate Services reporting requirements.
    • Support automation initiatives (Power Automate, SharePoint workflows) to improve data reliability and efficiency

    Governance, Compliance & Audit Support

    • Prepare audit-ready datasets and documentation for internal/external auditors.
    • Ensure adherence to data protection and confidentiality governance (POPIA, PFMA, internal controls).
    • Monitor compliance with reporting standards and escalate material discrepancies

    Stakeholder Engagement

    • Act as a central liaison between Corporate Services functions to ensure alignment of data standards and reporting practices.
    • Partner with IT and external vendors to streamline system integration and automation.
    • Provide training and support to Corporate Services staff on data quality practices and usage of dashboards.
    • Challenge inconsistent or poor-quality data constructively and professionally.
    • Act as a trusted advisor to the GE: Corporate Services on HC data matters
