    Job brief

    • We are looking for an HR Administrator to support our Human Resources department on a Fixed Term Basis. You will act as the first point of contact for HR-related queries.
    • Your main administrative duties include maintaining personnel records, managing HR documents (e.g., employment records) and updating internal databases. Our ideal candidate has experience with HR procedures and can juggle various administrative tasks in a timely manner.
    • Ultimately, you should be able to ensure our HR department supports our schools.


    Key responsibilities

    The precise areas of responsibility for this post will be agreed at the time of the appointment, but it is anticipated that you will be able to:

    • Organizing and maintaining staff records
    • Managing recruitment process for the schools from start to finish
    • Active member of School Governing Bodies
    • Updating internal HR databases i.e., staff establishments, payroll systems, etc.
    • Accurate end to end processing of payroll for all schools (approximately 200+ employees)
    • Ensure accuracy, completeness and validity of payroll
    • Support the financial operations of the organisation and partnership schools and ensure timely and accurate financial HR reports.
    • Manage payroll financial control, prepare and analyse budgets, develop financial reports, and make recommendations to the organisation on payrollbudget expenditures.
    • Monitor the payroll expenditures to ensure that school and operating partner funds are utilised appropriately by the close of the financial year.
    • Liaise with external partners ito staff benefits and ensure legal compliance.
    • Ensure that all payroll reporting is completed on time.
    • Keep up to date with employee taxation legislation.
    • Prepare and ensure compliance with HR processes and policies.
    • Maintain compliance with all applicable legislation.
    • Resolve employees HR-related queries timeously.
    • Participate in HR Projects
       

    Necessary qualification criteria

    •         A minimum of 5 years’ work experience in a similar administrative role

            Relevant qualification

    • Must be a South African national or possess a permanent resident permit with fluency in English and one indigenous South African language
       

    Essential experience and requirements

    •  Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Package (Ms Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
    •  Experience with Sage VIP Payroll systems
    •  Thorough knowledge of Labour laws
    •  Excellent organization skills, with the ability to prioritize important tasks.
    •  Excellent time management skills
    •  Strong attention to detail
    •  Strong communication skills
    •  High emotional intelligence
    •  Ability to perform under pressure and take initiative in resolving problems.
    •  Ability to work as a team and independently.
    •  Own transport and valid driver’s license
