    Human Resources Generalist

    • A leading group operating throughout Africa seeks a HR Generalist to join their team in KZN.

    Responsibilities:

    The Manager will be a member of the corporate office centre of excellence, he/she will be an HR generalist with specific responsibilities for:

    • Industrial Relations – managing the relations, engagement, negotiations and disputes with organised labour and employee representative committees
    • Conduct Management – managing and overseeing grievances, disciplinaries and warnings for the Group
    • HR Compliance Management – assessing compliance with SOPs across the Group
    • IR/ER Policy and Procedure Formulation and Roll-out
    • IR Advisor to the Business
    • Organisational Design – in conjunction with the HR Exec, manage job grading, job profiling, total rewards policies

    Knowledge, Skills and Attributes

    • Extensive knowledge of labour law and capacity to upskill self on international labour law
    • Advanced computer literacy (word, excel and powerpoint)
    • Prepared to travel to sites (largely in Zambia, DRC and Mozambique)
    • Strong administrative skills
    • Leadership and strategic potential and executive engagement

    Competencies (Experience and Qualifications)

    • Extensive experience with labour legislation, preferably in Africa (Mozambique, Zambia and DRC in particular)
    • At least 7 years relevant experience working with unions
    • At least 3 years in a management role
