    Human Resources Officer

    To provide front line HR services relating to the joiner-mover-leaver processes to allocated sites in their region, execute allocated project tasks and ad-hoc assist with the resolution of employee issues in line with relevant legislation and company policies.

    Responsibilities:

    •  To provide an effective recruitment and selection service to ensure the organisation is staffed with qualified, skilled, motivated and informed employees through the implementation of competency-based talent acquisition processes with relevant stakeholders in line with agreed EE targets for the region.
    •  To advise line management and staff on employee relations issues, implement and coordinate disciplinary and grievance resolution processes and assist with consultation processes as required, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, company policy and processes and the Premier Way.
    •  To provide HR Administrators with relevant employee documentation/ and or information in to ensure accurate management information on SAGE People and for monthly payroll processing.
    •  To provide relevant information/ reports to workplace forums in the region as and when needed to ensure compliance and enable good decision making and sound labour relations.
    •  To ensure high quality HR service delivery and execution as per the HR SLA standards through:
    •     enablement, guidance, advice and ad-hoc auditing of workplace processes and practises
    •     implementation of corrective action with the relevant managers and or
    •     escalation of risks/issues to the relevant managers.
    •  To coordinate the administrative and consultation processes for the employee life cycle from on-boarding to exit of employee
    •  Support Regional HR Manager with the successful implementation of HR Projects
    •  To actively promote a high-performance culture (the Premier way) on site and in HR through:
    •     identification of people performance and culture risks/ trends though observation and reporting of issues raised in Invocoms and/or workplace forums
    •     implementation of their own IDP goals
    •     identification and reporting opportunities for improvement to relevant HR/OD process owners


    Qualifications & Experience:

    •  HR Officer role (2-3 years) – Essential
    •  Work experience working in a unionised environment (1-2 years)- Essential
    •  People management information systems eg SAGE People, VIP, SAP (1-2 yrs) – Essential
    •  Work experience in continuous operations matrix organization (1-2 years) – Desirable
    •  Exposure to change/ continuous improvement initiatives in the business (1-2 Years) – Desirable
    •  HR Diploma or Degree - Essential

    Competencies (Knowledge, skills and abilities):

    •  Conducting disciplinary inquiries and grievance mediation skills – Essential
    •  Competency based profiling, screening and interview techniques – Essential
    •  Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills – Essential
    •  Advisory/Consulting skills – Desirable
    •  Auditing and investigative skills – Desirable
    •  Microsoft Office proficiency – Essential
    •  Working knowledge of people management systems eg SAP/VIP/Sage etc – Desirable
    •  FMCG/ Manufacturing/Retail experience would be advantageous – Desirable
    •  Valid driver’s license - Essential
    •  Travel to various sites in the Gauteng South region would be required
