    IBP Lead and Planning Manager - SSA

    You will oversee demand planning activities for your assigned product families in your business unit or area. You will also support the demand review process, championing the integrated business planning process and driving interactions with the cross-functional teams.

    How You Will Contribute

    You will:

    • Manage a forecasting team responsible for the development of an unbiased and unconstrained forecast over a 24-month period with properly documented assumptions
    • Partner with category finance to support appropriate linkage between the monthly integrated business planning (IBP) forecast and financial forecasts (key assumptions, risks, opportunities)
    • Partner with modelling team to generate statistical forecasting
    • Partner with commercial leadership to quantify and validate risks and opportunities and support the development of plans to close gaps between the forecast and target
    • Partner with innovation and equity to validate the sizing of innovations, renovations and campaigns as they enter the 24-month forecast
    • Partner with supply planning to ensure there is confidence in the demand plan and that key forecast decisions are made by the appropriate stakeholders and with the appropriate amount of lead time to ensure the successful execution and delivery of the plan
    • Manage, coach and develop a team driving continuous capability building in the demand planning team for planning improvement

    More About This Role

    • To be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of all IBP (Integrated Business Planning) activities and process (hands on), the Demand Planning function and the Finished Goods Supply Planning Function for Sub Sahara Africa.
    • The role includes but not limited to managing the full IBP process end to end, the demand planning, and Finished Goods supply planning function for the business unit Sub Sahara Africa.
    • Drive a team that comprise off leads/experts, to deliver against cross product business category strategies and ultimately deliver incremental growth.
    • You will be directly responsible for the effective and efficient operation of IBP process and for its continuous improvement, you will oversee demand planning activities for your assigned product families in your business unit or area and support the demand review process, and you will oversee supply planning activities for your product families in the business unit, being responsible for supporting the supply review process and interactions with the cross-functional teams.

    Education / Certifications:

    • University Degree in Finance/Accounting or related Supply Chain/Business Planning.
    • MBA an advantage.
    • 7+ experience in IBP, demand planning and/or supply planning / conflict management
    • Comprehensive supply chain, economic, financial and/or logistics experience and strong business acumen ideally within an FMCG/CPG environment

    Job specific requirements:

    IBP Lead

    • Provide Management Team members with information that supports decision-making so that decisions align the company’s product/portfolio, demand, supply, and finance requirements and deliver our strategic objectives.
    • Support ongoing process improvement.
    • Help drive organizational adoption and acceptance of the IBP process to improve control and utilization of resources working on IBP.
    • Support the Product/Portfolio, Demand, Supply, and Finance Process Step Owners and Leaders.
    • As leader of the IR, form and lead cross-functional teams as required to resolve projected supply/demand imbalances and operational/strategic plan gaps.
    • Provide analytical support as necessary to improve the quality and timeliness of IBP data reporting (Product/Portfolio, Demand, Supply, Finance, and contingency plans.)
    • Ensure all required inputs are being fed into IBP 360 and that IBP 360 is being used effectively in the MBR.
    • Lead the monthly IR and facilitate the monthly MBR and publish results within 48hrs of the meeting.
    • Monitor, track report process KPIs. Lead a process assessment annually.
    • Lead the monthly Integrated Reconciliation Review.
    • Brief the President/CFO on the content, decisions made, and decisions needed at least 24 hours prior to the MBR.
    • Maintain close coordination with product, demand, supply, and finance management especially during periods of constrained supply.
    • Participate with the Management Team in continuous reviews of the strategy and strategic objectives. Interfaces and Integration

    Finished Goods Supply Planning

    • Manage a supply planning team responsible for the category/business unit supply planning review process of the integrated business planning process
    • Support the Supply Planning Manager to lead the monthly supply review process, specifically facilitating the category/business unit supply review with stakeholders in the integrated supply chain function
    • Ensure business agreement on the supply of the plan, capacity constraints, raw and pack risks, and its cost for the future 12-18-month timeline
    • Support the 18-36-month strategic capacity plan
    • Support the interaction with demand planning, manufacturing, business development and finance
    • Manage, coach, and develop a team
    • Drive continuous capability building in the supply planning team for planning improvement
