    IM Portfolio Manager - Centurion

    Minimum Requirements

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    •    BSc (Hons) Computer Science (Essential/Minimum or)
    •    B Degree (Hons) (Relevant) (Essential/Minimum)
    •    Management Development Programme (Essential/Minimum)

    EXPERIENCE: 

    • 8-10 years Relevant Information Management experience with minimum 3 years Business Operations experience  (Essential/Minimum)    Operational

    Duties & Responsibilities

    Best Practice and Knowledge Management    

    • Identify and implement Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives to improve systems and processes
    • Implement process and system enhancements to improve Portfolio in Information Management (IM) function
    • Implement Business Improvement (BI) principles within IM
    • Business Process Management (BPM) knowledge transfer

    Business Performance and Operations    

    • Establish and manage a balanced IM portfolio and Programme aligned to Group Strategy and Business Plan and IM Strategy
    • Benefit and value definition and tracking of IM Enterprise portfolio

    Business Unit Investment Portfolio    

    • Establish, manage and execute a 3-5 year balanced IM Portfolio that is based on a 3-5-year roadmap approach
    • Incorporate the Business Unit (BU)/Coal Business (CB) Strategy and Business Plan; as well as the Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) Strategy within the balanced Information Management (IM) Portfolio
    • Coordinate prioritisation of the IM portfolio between the various stakeholders (BU\CB and IM)
    • Include the BU IM Portfolio within the consolidated overall IM portfolio
    • Track the value contribution and/or Programme objective(s) throughout value tracking lifecycle
    • Identify and mitigate IM Programme(s) and IM Portfolio risks and issues
    • Monitor and manage delivery of the Programmes and IM Portfolio
    • Communicate weekly and monthly progress/status feedback to stakeholders
    • Manage seamless transition of IM Projects and/or Programmes into operations

    Business Unit Strategic Alignment    

    • Translate the Corporate Centre (CC)/CB/Enterprise systems strategies and business plans into a Corporate Office IM Portfolio
    • Liaise with Business Solution Provision and Principle Architects to identify optimisation opportunities
    • Develop a prioritised 3-5 years systems roadmap/staircase in support of the BU strategy and aligned to the IT and OT Strategies

    Compliance, Governance and Assurance    

    • Ensure IM Portfolio adheres and complies with corporate governance, statutory, legal and other requirements (guidelines, policies, procedures) including Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO)
    • Ensure regulatory compliance within IM Portfolio in terms of benefit definition and value tracking
    • Provide input into IM strategy

    Customer and Client Relationship Management    

    • Perform the role of an IM Strategic business representative throughout the definition and execution of the IM Portfolio
    • Provide relevant communication to applicable stakeholders
    • Manage stakeholder's expectations in translating the Company Business Strategy, CB strategy and business plans; and IM Strategy into one consolidate IM portfolio
    • Establish and build strategic stakeholder relationships

    Demand Management    

    • Investigate and identify business needs and information gaps, and implement optimisation opportunities
    • Align new requirements and/or opportunities to the BU(s) strategic intent
    • Prioritise demand with stakeholders based on budget and resource constraints
    • Exploit synergies within projects and/or programmes across BUs and/or customers, and include synergies within a balanced and optimised IM Portfolio
    • Quantify and review Customer capital budget provision and obtain principle approval from Stakeholders
    • Include the BU(s) IM Portfolio into the overall IM Portfolio

    Financial Management    

    • Prepare and control Portfolio and Programme Management annual budget aligned to cost target
    • Prepare and manage the BU(s) IM Portfolio capital budget
    • Prepare and manage the BU(s) IM Portfolio Operational Expenditure (Opex) and Capital Expenditure (capex) forecast
    • Ensure effective billing of Project related cost, both from a solution (asset) and resource perspective
    • Focus on improvements for potential cost reduction
    • Effectively manage resources and assets

    Functional Excellence    

    • Adhere to functional policies, standards, guidelines, procedures, end-to-end processes, tools, templates etc.
    • Assist in standardising, simplifying and speeding-up functional processes, eliminating duplication/bureaucracy
    • Apply functional best practices, promote sharing of best practices/knowledge

    Functional Management    

    • Governance: Ensure function adheres to Group governance, policies, standards, statutory and legal compliance. Entrench a culture of discipline

    People Management    

    • Performance management: Clarify roles/responsibilities and expectations. Define individual performance standards, monitor and measure performance, reward and recognise high performance. Apply consistent performance and consequence management, take prompt action against non-performance
    • Talent development: Actively manage talent through regular assessment of employees’ strengths, development needs and development progress. Provide ongoing mentoring, coaching and development feedback to employees. Manage functional talent pipeline and succession planning process. Promote culture of continuous learning. Encourage and empower team to make decisions
    • Culture/functional climate: Embody, translate and entrench the Company’s culture and values in function, address behaviours that undermine values. Foster effective teamwork and unity. Create an environment in which people are inspired to perform and a high- performance culture

    • Ensure performance contracts succession planning processes are deployed

    Project Management    

    • Manage scope changes within the IM Portfolio and/or Programme and assess the overall impact on the IM Programme(s) and Portfolio
    • Identify and resolve stakeholders issues
    • Source and manage project managers to ensure effective project execution
    • Create custom risk or change documents as and when required in support of solution delivery
    • Create and communicate weekly and monthly project status reporting (time, cost, quality)
