    Information Technology Practitioner – 4 posts (5-month contract)

    Information Technology Practitioner – 4 posts (5-month contract)

    • Salary: R325 101 – R382 959 per annum (Level 7)
    • Reference: ECHEALTH/ITP/JGQ/S16/29/10/2025
    • Centre: Joe Gqabi District

    Requirements:

    • National Senior Certificate plus a National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Information Technology or Computer Science, recognised by SAQA.
    • 1–2 years’ relevant experience in the ICT field.
    • Sound technical knowledge and hands-on experience in:
    • PC and printer repairs, router configuration, and LAN switching.
    • Network protocols, Microsoft products (including Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange).
    • Printer and multifunction device configuration and management.
    • Desktop and infrastructure environments (servers, switches, networks, and cabling).
    • Exchange Server Administration, TCP/IP networking, and 802.11 wireless technologies (advantageous).
    • Strong technical problem-solving, analytical, and innovative thinking skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal and service-oriented approach, with the ability to perform under pressure.
    • A valid driver’s licence is required.

    Duties:

    • Repair and maintain computer equipment, including servers, PCs, and printers.
    • Install, configure, and provide technical support for network servers, ICT infrastructure, and software applications.
    • Conduct system assessments, compile technical reports, and recommend improvements.
    • Provide technical and application support for ECDOH transversal systems and software.
    • Coordinate support for office automation services, such as telephone systems, copiers, faxes, and mobile devices.
    • Mentor and oversee IT interns, ensuring knowledge transfer and professional growth.
    • Monitor and manage local area network (LAN) performance and ensure optimal connectivity.
    • Render first-line technical support to users for transversal systems and network applications.
    • Maintain and monitor incident logs using a call-logging system, ensuring timely issue resolution.
    • Provide technical support to all district health facilities on National Department of Health (NDoH) systems and applications.
    • Oversee and monitor district ICT projects, including information security (anti-virus and backup solutions).
    • Liaise with users to assess and respond to IT requirements and service requests.
    • Create and maintain an inventory of all desktop, network, and ICT-related equipment.
    • Facilitate ICT awareness and training sessions, promoting compliance with ICT policies and security standards.
