Infrastructure Engineer (Agriculture/Civil) at Agribusiness Development Agency

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12, BSc or B-Tech degree (NQF level 7) in Agricultural or Civil Engineering.
• Three (3) years’ relevant experience working in agricultural / civil engineering environment.
• At least one year experience should be in middle management services.
• Valid driver’s license code 8 or above
• Registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering Technologist and must be active.

Knowledge,:

• Have understanding of Water Act, 1998, Agricultural Production Standards Act, 1990, Engineering Professional Act, 2000, Conservation of Agricultural Resources Act, 1983 and Labour Relations Act,

Key Performance Areas:

• To provide leadership and support by applying engineering principles and address technical challenges,
• To manage planning, design, implementation of engineering projects and new systems to solve problems, improve efficiency in one or more of the following fields of agricultural infrastructure: irrigation & water supply pump stations, mechanization; farm structures; animal handling facilities; food processing and energy,
• Implementation of cost-effective solutions according to Agribusiness, Development agency (ADA) standards. Develop design manuals, standard drawings and procedures,
• Promotion of safety in line with statutory and regulatory requirements. Preparing presentation and reports of implementation of projects,
• Reporting on service delivery and adherence to administrative procedures and regulations,
• Self-development in terms of keeping up to date with new technologies and procedures,
• Monitoring and supervision of projects from different service providers under Agribusiness Development agency (ADA).
• Ad hoc duties required by the incumbent’s supervisor.
