    Innovation and Deploy Chef - Africa

    You are aware of Global and Africa food trends; You can communicate well with your stellar networking skills; You demonstrate passion and enthusiasm in creation of new products and ideas and are obsessed with consumer and product quality.

    Job Summary

    • Deliver / derive culinary insight as part of Innovation Projects across Key Africa Markets
    • Work with Consumer Technical Insights team to understand consumer insights to develop model dish recipes
    • Define ‘golden benchmark / culinary prototype’ for Product Development
    • Culinary lead for product assessments during the Innoflex product development phase
    • Co-create and ensure the quality of activation / communication materials in all media / customer channels which relate to cooking functionality and application (in co-operation with Marketing and Deploy organisation)
    • Play active role in competitor monitoring, trends, cooking habits, against our existing understanding / portfolio.
    • Maintain effective links with Chefs in other Regions.
    • Be a passionate ambassador of our products by leveraging key product strengths and presenting that to internal/external stakeholders.
    • Ensure recipes align with Unilever’s Nutrition ambition, by collaborating with Diet and Health team to produce healthy recipe content.
    • Ensure the compliance to the Unilever Code of Business Principles and all SHE and QA policies, including the support of product claims, risk management and environmental awareness & legislation.

    Key Requirements

    • National Diploma or Degree in relevant area of expertise, i.e. Food Service, Chef Manship, Catering
    • Demonstrate ability to work in a multi-functional, multi-cultural environment
    • Fluent in English
    • 3 – 5 years of relevant Chef Manship experience in the following areas:
    • Culinary expertise
    • Recipe creation
    • Kitchen processes & ingredients
    • Training & presentations
    • Product Design
    • New Idea Generation
    • Project Management
    • Consumer Insight generation
