Job Description
Main Purpose of Job
Working as an integral member of the Insights team, to assist Deloitte Africa and its clients by providing research, analysis and insights on key business topics and themes; aligned to the firm’s Africa Strategy and part of eminence building and business development of the firm.
Differentiators for this specific role
Research & TL (75%)
Scoping, research and data collection, data analysis, writing, and production of thought leadership reports (proprietary insights and analytical perspectives) and publications aligned to Deloitte’s Africa TL plan, priority themes and strategic objectives
Guiding the production of TL reports and POVs of the firm (aligned to the Africa TL plan) as a TL/research expert, including guiding practitioners in the firm with access to relevant data sources, research tools, service providers, etc.
Guiding other support functions with messaging, final packaging and dissemination of Deloitte Africa-developed insights publications
Assistance to client leaders, SMEs and client service teams with client engagements on the back of the insights findings including relevant TL/research assets (e.g. presentation decks)
Conducting primary research, including survey-based research, interviews at C-suite level with clients of the firm
Conducting desktop research literature reviews on identified topics, as well as overview/analyses of competitor TL/Insights on similar topics
Drawing insights from various forms of data collected throughout the research process
Managing/engaging with third-party suppliers forming part of the research process
Africa economic research assistance (10%)
Research assistance relating to economic and commercial issues to provide fact-based commentary on leading African economies, industries and sectors, aligned to business and service line needs/client requests/NED programme and for context for TL publications and/or webinars
Development of reports (e.g. country investment and opportunity reports linked supporting business development efforts of the firm into key African economies
Client project support relating to Africa economic and in-market research, including economic data and analysis by working with client teams across service lines as a research SME
Assistance with delivery of sprints (7.5%)
Assisting with rolling out key sprints of the Insights pod aligned to the approved strategic objectives and team ambitions
Assistance with presentation preparation/ rapporteuring (7.5%)
Researching and developing (and as required delivery) of presentations on key markets, industries, developments, client deliverables, for eminence and/or insights materials
Attendance of key flagship events/webinars of the firm and preparation of and/or guiding the preparation of outcomes summary reports for dissemination to clients

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Degree (in economics, commerce, finance or similar)
Minimum Experience:
3-4 years’ experience in economic research, market research, industry research, business analysis, thought leadership (TL) and insights productio
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
Postgraduate Degree (in economics, commerce, finance or similar)
Good knowledge of Deloitte strategic priorities.
