International Structuring Attorney at VHRS

About the Role

• Attorney International Structuring Team: An opportunity to join one of South Africa’s leading practices in cross border investment transactions for South African and African-based tech start-ups.

Responsibilities

• This role requires an experienced commercial attorney who has familiarity with exchange controls, conventional legal structures, transfer pricing, the considerations applying to IP transactions and international tax generally.
• In addition, the candidate should show some familiarity with how South African international structures support the end goal of raising growth funding from offshore investors.

Skill areas:

• Understand the specific commercial goals of South African companies growing offshore and how legal structures should compliment those;
• Understand the typical international legal structures for South African companies growing offshore;
• Experience in exchange controls, transfer pricing, the considerations applying to moving IP out of South Africa
• At least a solid commercial law backround including venture capital considerations.
• Be prepared to be responsible for the growth of the firm by hiring and managing further team members.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years post qualification experience in a recognized commercial law/tax practice.
• Direct experience in international structures and related work (transfer pricing,exchange control regulations) LLB.
